I don't write on FF.net, but there's (I think) just one fanfic on my old DA account, http://chatroomfreak.deviantart.com . It's called "Speed Bump". I do write fanfic occasionally, but it's not really my strong point, so I don't have much to show for it at the moment. I do want to write a Sailor Moon x Pokemon crossover fanfiction some day though. Look out for it!
... Actually, this question made me go and try to sign up for FF.net, and now I realise that I've actually had an account all along! So, I set it up again. I might put something on it in the future... for now, my pen name is voraciouswriting. -
Oh, there are lots! Most of them fall into the category of "hobbies/interests" rather than "habits", unlike those examples. Those are interesting... hmm.
Well, as for hobbies, I wear cologne like Haruka + Makoto... particularly inspired by Makoto's introduction in the manga, where she saves Usagi from an oncoming truck and then leaves just as suddenly, and Usagi thinks that she's really cool because she wears grown-up perfume. (Though mine isn't perfume.) On a broader scale, the characters have introduced me to a lot of activities... Makoto in particular inspired me to try to learn how to knit and sew, and though I've always liked cooking, she's a good role-model there too.
I guess the only thing I can think of that fits into "habits" would be that when I make cookies, I like to do Ami's glass trick from the SuperS movie (where you use the rim to cut out the circle, and then use the carved bottom of the glass to press a pattern into each biscuit).
Oh... I also have a tendency to forgive people just because they're good-looking, like manga!Usagi. I'm definitely quoting her whenever I think, "I'll forgive anything if a pretty girl does it". Sailor Moon is definitely the direct cause of me sometimes thinking, "You know, it's OK for me to just arbitrarily enjoy this person's face".
This was an interesting question! I'm sorry I didn't give a very interesting answer. -
Haha! Well, I feel like if I did that, I'd be spoiling too much? On the one hand, I want to do something to make the wait more bearable when I know I won't be able to update for a long time, but on the other hand, I feel like if I even mention something small it will ruin a lot of big things... Maybe this is what I could utilize the 4KH Twitter feed for, though. Posting cryptic clues... I've updated now, but if I ever feel that I won't be able to update for another long period, I will consider writing up some future events to tide people over.
Sorry for the wait! Thankyou for your patience. -
By "didn't appear in the series", do you mean already-existing Sailor Moon characters who haven't/won't appear in 4KH, like the Starlights or Naru? In that case, sure! Especially after I've finished 4KH & taken a break, and I'm looking for other things to do in the SM community. I'd have to have a good script but the idea itself is definitely one I'd consider.

... I have many, many, many Tumblrs. It's getting pretty bad, how many Tumblrs I have. (To me, it's basically the blogging platform I've been waiting for all my life... so I keep making more.) So, because you've unwittingly given me the chance to list them all, list them all I shall.
My first Tumblr, and the "main" one, is SailorFailures. It's obviously a Sailor Moon Tumblr, but don't let the name fool you... it's not for making fun of anything, it's just a general Sailor Moon Tumblr.
http://sailorfailures.tumblr.com
It's at over 200 pages now, so it even has a "Recommended Reading" page for newcomers!
There are lots of other Tumblrs linked to from that one, but I'll list them again...
I run a submissions-based Sailor Moon headcanon Tumblr called Dumpling Headcanon.
http://dumplingheadcanon.tumblr.com
I have a Tumblr dedicated to the stupid shit Mamoru/Tuxedo Mask says, which hasn't been updated in a while, but is still active (ie. I plan to do more stuff with it eventually):
http://tuxedowisdom.tumblr.com
And I have a Tumblr dedicated to bad Sailor Moon fanfiction, but it's in dire need of submissions:
http://choberiba.tumblr.com
I also run an illustrated Ask Blog for any Sailor Moon character (an Ask Blog/Tumblr is where you send questions and they are answered from the POV of a fictional character, usually with a drawing to go with).
http://askaprettysoldier.tumblr.com
I also have a ring of "Roleplay Tumblrs" that are an experiment to run a Tumblr for each (main) character, reblogging/posting things that I think the characters themselves would post, if they had a Tumblr... there are 11 of them.
http://princessdumpling.tumblr.com

http://violontide.tumblr.com
http://racingwind.tumblr.com
http://sugarheartattack.tumblr.com

I believe that's it, for Sailor Moon Tumblrs...
After that, I have a Sims Tumblr ("Simblr"):
http://rockethorse.tumblr.com
Two Pokemon Tumblrs, both for gijinkas, but I'm considering turning the first into just a generic Pokemon Tumblr - regardless, both of them are pretty neglected:

Aaaaand my rarely-updated personal Tumblr:

Hmm. Well, the anime's style is the one I remember from my childhood, and it's the one that has influenced my own drawings the most. But I adore Naoko's art style (particularly her traditional colouring techniques) and take inspiration from her as well. So I'll have to say... PGSM. Simply because the art for the drawn merchandise/other ads for the series seemed to combine my favourite parts of Naoko's art with that of the anime's. I really love the look of the anime/manga-style drawn PGSM artwork.

Enjoy the most: Definitely Nephrite. I'm kind of ashamed of how much I favour him and write him compared to the others, but he's just so fun! I know I've stretched his personality a bit beyond what he's shown in one given canon, but he seems to be entertaining enough that people don't mind.
Eager to write: Motoki, definitely. He was Mamoru's only friend before the four Kings arrived, and I desperately want to involve him in the story and have him be a total bro, but so far I haven't thought of how I'm going to do that. Wish me luck! -
By "sex" do you mean their gender?
For me, personally, not really. I find writing men and women to be equally interesting and challenging. Writing people whose gender does not align with their sex is also difficult but rewarding. I don't know if I write them all convincingly, but at least at the moment, neither seems more complicated. I find other things more difficult to write convincingly than gender/sex, such as people of different races or religions. -
Hmm... well, in the Anime, I'm not too sure they would. Usagi is much more naive than in the Manga, and Mamoru is so much more frigid and so unflinchingly "traditional", I have to say that I really don't think they'd have sex before their wedding. In 4KH... well, they probably would. While I keep Usagi as naive as she is in the Anime, I use more of Mamoru's Manga personality, where he is generally more open and romantic and more receptive to those kind of ideas... he's just paranoid and awkward.

Hmm! Maybe I should do something on the LJ for Christmas! I hadn't thought about that. Leading up to Christmas the actual comic will probably not get many updates at all, so something like a simple LJ entry might be fun.

No, it's not. If you highlight the page you'll find a secret link. Really... you never played Neopets as a kid?

I think it's more likely that the writers for that episode didn't think at all about how recently a thousand years ago actually is, or that they got confused and thought the "Silver Millennium" referred to a period of time, rather than the name of the Kingdom - although even if it was meant to be a reign of a thousand years, that doesn't mean it happened specifically a thousand years ago. The Silver Millennium was probably more likely to be prehistoric; that is, before any history that we have. So, in short, no; I don't think there's any way that the Silver Millennium could've happened only a thousand years ago, and it not be mentioned anywhere in mythology/history, even as a story.

Hmm, thankyou! I'm glad you enjoyed them.
Alright, Ami; to be honest, I think she's straight in every medium but PGSM. You've got the whole "Ami-chan's First Love" story that has her going gaga over a guy she's never met - she imagines that he looks like a "young Albert Einstein", which means that although her celebrity crushes may not be "typical", they seem to be geared towards males - and she expressed an interest in the Three Lights (believing them to be males). And in the anime, you have her whole fling with Ryo. To be honest, I think she's just less of a romantic/sexual character than the others, so any analysis of her preference is going to have less basis in fact than the others. But I think she's straight, although perhaps she has some fluidity in her sexuality, considering she's let slip on more than one occassion that she considers that Usagi and Mamoru would be found attractive by their same sex. I don't know what that means, other than perhaps she writes slashfic.
PGSM, though, she's canonically in love with Usagi ("accidentally" divulged by the actresses in a behind-the-scenes video), but I'm not sold on whether that makes her a lesbian. Again, she's not a very sexual character, so I think her love for Usagi is very passionate and very chaste. I don't think she finds her physically attractive but rather fell in love with her for being a confident and joyful close friend. I don't really think she wants to do anything with Usagi other than love her. There was also some mild chemistry between Ami and Nephrite; so I don't know, call it a hunch, but I think PGSM!Ami is a straight girl who fell in love with Usagi much in the same way that schoolgirls will fall in love with female teachers or older female students; kind of a puppy love, but for Ami, much more powerful.
Makoto... Makoto. Hmmmm. Again, in my opinion, I think Makoto is straight, but I think there's a lot of evidence there for someone who thinks she's bisexual. Most of that comes from her brief infatuation with Haruka, but like I mentioned before, I don't think that was actually a sexual/physical or romantic attraction - I think Haruka was just somebody whom she admired a lot. I mean, Makoto's struggled a lot over her life with her own feelings of her contrasting masculinity and femininity, and here is a woman who has a superb control and balance over both of them; it's kind of natural that she'd be a little smitten. By the end of the episode, though, as she tries out a new approach to her own "style", I think it's pretty clear that her interest in Haruka is not much more than as a mentor and a rolemodel. In my headcanon, though, (and as expressed a little in 4KH), she still looks up to Haruka very much and is excited to get to spend time with her, but that's not from a romantic angle, in my opinion. So many other factors to Makoto - her pining for her lost love, her dream to become a "typical" wife, her daydreams of a handsome husband - imply that she's straight. But, I think she may have an interest in experimenting with girls that I think confuses even herself; it's a weird opinion, but it's a strong one I have from some of the scenes she's in - it seems like the poor girl is always getting thrust into some borderline sexual situation with another girl, and she always seems so flustered, more than it seems - to me - standard for a straight girl with another girl. The scenes that come to mind are when Sailor Mercury trips and Jupiter ends up with a full view of her butt, or when the MoTD in the aforementioned Uranus episode seemed like she was going to "flash" her, or when a brainwashed Unazuki tried to kiss her - each time she reacts with furious embarrassment, and in two of those scenes, it seemed, a distinct lack of trying to stop it from happening. I don't know; this isn't so much based in fact as a feeling I get from her. A part of her wants to try experimenting with girls, but another part thinks it's wrong - in the end, though, I don't think that it would end up as much more than her experimenting.
PGSM!Makoto seems to me to be straight, but just not particularly interested in romance. She likes the basketball player (who is actually a bad guy), and agreed to a "date" with him, but it seems like she only agreed because she felt flattered that he picked her - so like it was a boost to her confidence, rather than she actually liked him. Though she liked him well enough to make him cookies, so there's that. I don't know, Jupiter's sexuality isn't as explored in PGSM - I think she's straight there too.
Hope that answered your question and wasn't too long! I'm flattered you think me an interesting source for these things. -
... WOW. This is a really interesting question, thankyou for asking me it! Hmm... let's see. I would probably do what you said and merge Mars + Mercury, because both their personalities and their powers would make for interesting combinations. I would like to see a mix between Jupiter and Neptune, too; salt water + electricity would be a deadly mix, and she would be so outrageously beautiful and ladylike; but prone to bursts of sudden masculinity and brute strength. Uranus and Pluto would make for a very rich character design, I think - combine Uranus's stubbornness and loner tendencies with Pluto's stoic nature and "we shall fix our own mistakes" attitude, and you have one hell of a stern Soldier indeed. She would also be classy as fuck. Can you imagine? Right, so who's left...? Venus, Saturn, Moon and Chibi Moon... right? Well, I think I'd just stick Moon and Chibi Moon together (so you'd basically just end up with Chibi Moon), and then put Venus and Saturn together at the end - so you have a frail, quiet and morose young girl who wants to be an idol more than anything and has powers of love strong enough to destroy the world. WE'RE ALL DOOMED.
I want to draw them all now, and I just might, haha! Thankyou again for the unique question! -
I probably have answered this at some point, but I'll try and answer again very very quickly;
Favourite arc of the manga:
I'm going to cheat and count "Codename: Sailor V" as an arc of Sailor Moon here. Because it is seriously my favourite.
Favourite season of the anime:
SuperS. Haters gonna hate.
Least favourite arc of the manga:
The Black Moon Arc; not because I dislike it (I love many parts of it) but merely because I love the other arcs just that little bit more.
Least favourite season of the anime:
StarS. It is trying too hard to be dark and angsty and "mature", and in doing so completely shuts out 80% of the characters. Most people who like StarS best proudly proclaim that it's "nothing like the rest of Sailor Moon"... to which I respond, "Then why are you watching Sailor Moon??". Having one season be uncharacteristically unlike the entire rest of the series is usually not a marker for quality. Super had the right balance of angst vs. cheer; it's obvious that they were trying to recreate that with StarS, but hohoho boy did they miss. (Sorry; it's a peeve. Can you tell?)
PGSM only has one arc/season, really, and I haven't seen enough of the Musicals to pick a favourite, but I think so far mine is the storyline for the Kaguya Island musical(s).
Wow, Jesus, I totally lied when I said I would answer it very very quickly. Hope you found a worthwhile answer deep in there somewhere. -
HMMM. This is interesting! I think I like modern-day Usagi best. Princess Serenity had some personality in the manga, but I don't feel she was as interesting. And while I love that Usagi matures and grows into a responsible mother and Queen, and while I know that she does retain parts of her carefree, childish personality, she loses some of her charm to me as NQ Serenity. But it's kind of a tie between civilian Usagi and Sailor Moon, 'cause as Sailor Moon she fights kind of the way I imagine a normal person would fight - she doesn't know what she's doing half the time, so she bullshits, or she gets other people to help her. But civilian Usagi is so cute, with her relatable laziness, her pigging out on sweets, and her tendencies to act as Cupid.
For Mamoru, it's definitely gotta be modern-day civilian Mamoru - though I do also kind of like King Endymion, just 'cause I think he'd be the best dad ever. Like he was born to be a father. But yeah - Prince Endymion, unfortunately, has basically no personality (although Evil!Endymion is all kinds of badass), and as Tuxedo Mask, although he is sometimes ridiculous and wonderful (especially with his goddamn speeches OH GOD the shabu shabu beef is angry the beach is not a place for bombs), I feel like he enters into a kind of cold and arrogant persona as soon as he puts on the tux and mask. He's much cuter and nicer as Mamoru, where his teasing is more silly and petulant than actually pointing out big hurtful flaws. Though King Endymion with NQ Serenity ranks much higher than King Endymion without.
This was an interesting question, thankyou very much for asking! -
I don't really mind ANY canon-breaking so long as the author/otherwise-breaker:
1) Knows that they are breaking canon, and
2) Puts significant thought into how their sequence of events comes to be.
My problem with most Minako/Yaten shippers is that they only ship them because of Minako's brief interest in Yaten in the anime, and because they look good together (and because of some latent need to pair up all of the Starlights once Usagi is with Seiya). They ignore stuff like Minako (and Yaten's) sexuality (and gender), or the fact that their personalities totally clash, or the fact that there's no reason why Yaten would even stay on Earth post-StarS. IF someone takes all of those things into consideration when they write the two together then I really wouldn't have a problem with it. (It's just that it almost never happens.)
The first point is important too. I mean, if you embrace the fact that something you are writing goes against canon, then you can still write it and it can still be a good fic. It's people who whine and try to justify that their ship/their interpretation of events is canon because of some ridiculous, convoluted flowchart that usually doesn't even make sense, or shady translated-three-times-on-Babelfish "sources", or even just "sources" that amount to "I read this somewhere so it is true" (let's not even go near the whole "my ship is canon and you just don't understand it because their behaviour is totally that of a couple in Japanese culturrreee").
So, TL;DR - I don't have a problem with people breaking canon if they know that's what they're doing. Go ahead, write a story where Usagi has a second child, so long as you know that it's a story that could never actually happen within the SM world (but that does not mean it wouldn't be a good or worthwhile story!). Go ahead, ship Ami and Makoto together; just don't go claiming that they're a canon couple.
Sorry for the rant. I take misrepresentation of canon very seriously since I find it disrespectful to the author. -
Hmm, what a thoughtful question, thankyou!
I've been drawing ever since I was really little, I guess; I have vague memories of enjoying painting in kindergarten, if that counts. I don't really have a memory of a time when I sat down and said, "Right, I think I'll start learning how to draw." But I didn't really start actively drawing until I got into stuff like Sailor Moon and Slayers. But truthfully, I don't really enjoy drawing. I hear other people talking about how much joy drawing brings to their life, and I don't feel the same way. I've always drawn because I wanted the finished product, usually to convey an idea I couldn't with words. Kind of like someone who works out just to get fit, rather than working out because they enjoy pushing their boundaries or whatever. I kind of envy people who love drawing, because as it is, I kind of see it as a chore. (Though I do genuinely enjoy the process of animating.)
So, uh, tl;dr version: I got interested in drawing through a combination of liking anime, and wanting to express stuff through pictures, and I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. Thankyou for asking! -
I've often asked myself this same question and each time I just come up with "I don't know". It's probably their individual personalities and the way those personalities mix together; it's probably that it's a series with a large cast but not an enormous cast, with enough characters that it feels rich and full and like a family when they're all together, but not so many that you need a mile of flow charts and diagrams to list them all. It's probably its sweet, light-hearted humour, its heart-warming and feel-good ambience, art style and morals, empowering messages and its genuine romance and tragedy. It's probably the ingenuity of the fanbase and the constant feeling of discovering something new. But it's MOST probably precisely because I've been in it for so long; it feels like family to me now and I know I can always turn to it for comfort and a good laugh (or cry if I need one).

Simple; she could only do one or the other. Sending ALL the people on the Moon to be reborn in the future on Earth, or defeating Metaria/Chaos completely, both would have used all the power of the Silver Crystal. To do so, Queen Serenity would have had to give her own life. If she used the crystal to save their lives, she'd be dead, they would've come back, and they'd just get killed over again. If she used it to completely wipe out Metaria/Chaos, her daughter + the Soldiers would have died. So she kind of went half-way; using some of the power to ensure her court was reborn - maybe not then, but in the future - and then using the rest to greatly weaken Metaria/Chaos.
This is all in answer to the half of your question about why she didn't get rid of the enemies, though. In answer to not resurrecting them "on the spot", the Silver Crystal doesn't do that. It heals people and gives them energy if they're close to dying, but if they're dead, they can only be reborn through the Galaxy Cauldron.
There's also the theory that the Silver Crystal's powers change depending on who's using it, and Queen Serenity just didn't have the same powers that Usagi/Sailor Moon is shown to have.
In short; IDK. I'm not Naoko/a writer working at TOEI circa 1992. It's all just speculation.

Frizzy’s Bio
I'm a 19-year-old parasite single who draws a lot of comics and has an unhealthy obsession with Sailor Moon.
Please read the answers already here before asking something. If I don't reply to your question, then it's most likely a repeat. Thankyou!
