I'm buddies with some, acquaintances with others and most probably don't know I exist. Which is perfectly fine. I don't think anyone hates me. LOL.

Haven't earned a penny from doing this which started in early 2008. After a number of back-and-forth emails (just bullshitting about whatever was going in movie-news at the time) with Screen Rant big-cheese Vic Holtreman, he was the one who said, "You should be writing online and for me!"

I do it 100% because I love it. Would I love to make a living off it? Of course and if I earn a couple of spare bucks, great. But I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah, Spider-Man 3 sucked. But did it leave the franchise in such a sour state creatively it couldn’t not reboot? Hell no. One bad movie in an otherwise solid franchise doesn’t equal “OMG! We gotta start over!” They could have recast the leads, keep supporting players like Harris and Simmons and just not directly reference the earlier films – not unlike how the Bond films used to. Not against rebooting, just don’t think it’s at that point yet where it’s vital. I also think no matter how good or bad this turns out (if they cast who I think they are for the web-slinger, that’s one good thing) the series is in for a rude awakening. That third movie was so hated across-the-board (general public and nerds/geeks/fanboys alike) nowhere near as many people will flock to see this and it’ll underperform. Plus sandwiching it days after the Star Trek sequel (which will kick Spidey’s webbed li’l ass) and weeks before Batman 3 is mind-bogglingly dumb.

If this “Action Comics #1” plan pans out, then I’m for it. I don’t get the impression Green Lantern, Batman 3 and Superman: Man of Steel will literally stop in their tracks (story and pacing wise) just to shove Justice League down our throats like Iron Man 2 did. Honestly (and this is 10000% a guess on my part), I think WB/DC went to Team Nolan and let them have first crack at figuring out an angle to it all work.

Because I find those obsessive/dedicated Twilight fans no different than that of any other franchise. But given the fanboy mentality that because this is for *Gasp!* girls, it’s “icky.” We’re not in grade-school, people. The female species aren’t “icky” – quite the opposite in fact. I never read a word of those books or watched any of the movies. I know they’re not my thing. So I’m not some closeted fan trying to defend them. Let the fangirls have their fun. No harm, no foul. People look like bigger idiots going out of their way shitting on them in my never-so-humble opinion.

I like the cast so far. But save for McAvoy and Fassbender, they’re unknowns. So there’s nothing going against them. Getting Vaughn to direct was smart to win back “nerd cred” (coming off Kick-Ass which I really liked but didn’t nerdgasm over) and Singer’s active producing role is a plus. I think the general public has been burned too much from the last two films (Last Stand and Wolverine) to care though.

Someone with talent, works well with the material, but most important is controllable as Hell and will follow orders. There are a number of filmmakers I could imagine ranging from the studio-friendly (like a Gore Verbinski) to “what the Hell…?” (like a Richard Kelly).

MGM having no money, the start-date being pushed back multiple times, changing release dates (no way this hits 2012 at this rate) and the big jalapeno of losing del Toro behind the camera. Not trying to be a cynical bastard (I wanted to see Guillermo take this on!) just realistic. I don't think THIS incarnation of The Hobbit will see the light of day.

Been years since I've traveled out of state. I'm thinking it was Boston was the furthest.
