"Freethinkers are dangerous"
Questions Answered
if you could travel back in time, what time period and why? by swagtastic
I would return to the 1960s, with all of the adventurous thinking going on, I wouldn't ever leave.
I have a question/request i was wondering if I show you my portfolio that I put together recently if you would give it a look and give me some critcism.
Now, normally I don't like to agree on giving critcism, because I feel that excuse my experience, that I'm not a acknowledged professional, my advice isn't worth as much as advice from a working professional
But if you wish, feel free to email me a link or sample of your work. The email link is on my blog's homepage, as the "Mail" button, thats a envelope.
You're outlook is beyond attractive! I find myself nodding in agreement to everything you write... yea :) Sorry if this has been asked but what are some of your all time favorite books? Must reads in your humble opinion?
To be honest, I don't read as much as I research and find my answers towards my own life, as oppose to later taking what I've read/seen/heard initially without thought into my truth.
However, I should take a moment to nod to some of my favorite pieces of literary art:
"Native Son" by Richard Wright
"The Time Machine" by H.G Wells
"1984" by Orsen Wells
"The Martian Chronicles" by Ray Bradbury
And a recent addition:
"Situationist International Anthology" by Guy Debord
I appreciate the love, thank you for following. :)
I made a formspring on here just so I could reply to this. Your submission in my ask form made my day. I appreciate it a lot a lot a lot. Thank you for holding me down and not giving up on someone with a big ass mind. Much love, illa. by illain
The funny thing is that the ones who are actually thinking about shit, are always talked about thinking TOO much. I don't agree with that at all, that one could EVER think too much, much less actually attempt to think.
And that's the beauty I see in your blog: the strength of an opinion, but not just an opinion but a opinion based on knowledge. That's what you are MORE than about, but an attainable possibility for the masses: the educated opinion.
You, dear Illian, are a golden mind of this sea of pewter.
:) Craig you make me smile, I love your blog and I follow it pretty darn religiously. Keep on keeping on. You have a very wise soul. by seasonschange
You know how I feel about your blog. The feeling is mutual.
I appreciate you and everyone who follows Figuremeout; for each of you, I send my love.
who inspires you the most? by SarahWaffles
The philosophy of all wise minds, their efforts to progress humankind towards a better, brighter future for everyone, as opposed to celebrating themselves.
I am impressed. Sure makes a point in not requiring to have the most expensive camera to take some good shots. Esepcially nowadays where it's "cool" to be into the art scene and have the latest d-slr camera; regardless you inspire me; thanks(:
The way I see it, my experience has told me that of all the lavish expensive objects of hobby doesn't equate for great results.
I've always championed using less to get more, especially with cameras and candid photography, people now make what was once a celebrated time-tested craft to a watered down, under-appreciated artform.
To its credit, those who work their way up, understanding essentially how a photo is taken, lighting, composition, etc. and gets better equipment, of course the result can only incite imitation, posers. In many cases, this is for many artforms, is more or less the hypothetical "screen".
Its in imitation that separates the copies from the true originals.
I know the whole do what makes you happy but I feel like I don't have much of a choice when my parents pay for everything. Idk. It's a blessing and a curse in one.
You can always strike it out on your own, with loans and a myriad of financial aids for your books, food, housing, etc. that currently, one doesn't need the expense of parents to go to college.
It just takes a bit of digging and question asking.
Truth be told that the path to happiness is never easy or without sacrifice, but there's more hope to finish than to endure without ever knowing what could be.
To be frank, it's their money, yes, but it's you who is going to school. It's your education and knowledge trumps all in life.
At some point in life, there will be paths that will take your further, but these you must travel alone, even without the support of those who can be everything to you.
What do you do when you've become a completely different person from those who you have surround yourself with? I feel completely isolated with the people I once called my friends our ideals/values are different. I just don't know what to do...
This is the condition of the true independent. You may share a lot with society, in all of its opinions and insights, yet in you personal quest for self-awareness, you become misaligned with the motivations of institutions and what society is contained or defined by.
Without fear, the individual must always maintain their defiant stride against the crowd, no matter what is the sacrifice. You may lose popularity. You may lose money. But never respect.
Delve youself into finding the world as your truth and remember that if what doesn't aid your journey to finding truth, its better left behind.
Use what works for you, be open to other answers, and always keep an open ear as well as an open mnd to the lessons of the past. The future is only the regurgitation of yesterday.
Don't ever forget what makes you different. Take only the advice of those who's lives you would share in and never make your truth without asking the question, "why?"
Life is a journey of answers that I, nor anyone, could ever figure out and share, but its the little moments of realisations that brings us closer to a brighter end.
if your personality reflects your blog, then i think you're absolutely beautiful by mjfmjf
Figuremeout is better understood as the inner monologue of my thoughts; the quotations are like little proverbs that I write to remind myself of the countless revelations of living life. The images are what inspires me to write, to create, from their subject matters, their compositions, and the style they are shot in.
Figuremeout is more or less the true Craig underneath.
How did you figure out what you wanted to do? Because I at the moment am debating on majoring into Communication Arts or Psychology, income seems to be my parents worry and don't really support me doing anything with art but I am def. proud in my work.
Do what your heart is good at: being happy.
It's you life and command your happiness whenever you can. College is the perfect time.
You are extremely talented in what you do. It seems like art-wise you are very good.
Thank you kindly.
And for those curious to what art this person is referring to, feel free to check out works of mine on The Behance Network, at the following link:

There would be a lot in store? like what? Just Curious.
I'd rather show than tell. But who are you?
What kind of camera do you have?
Nothing special. I explain it in full detail in this post.

If I lived by you I would definitely want to date you. To be honest. haha. I feel like a dork saying that.
If we lived by each other, I'm sure a lot more would be in store.
As long as we're honest.
Oh I didn't mean to sound like I was saying they weren't yours just asking. I thought they were good. I also looked at your portfolio. Your style is so different and unique. I find your work to be truly inspiring. by takeaplunge
I am humbly appreciative, thank you.
For those who haven't feel free to take a look at my work, if you wish.
