Well, hello there long time follower first time caller. I take it as a compliment that you care enough to notice how much my style has evolved and been influenced by what is around me and take the time to let me know. I would also like to show the same consideration has been taken for your comment.
Other influences I have taken into account [read: ripped off] are:
My Mum
My Nana
My Mother-In-Law
My Aunty
And other "cool kids" like My Dad, My Chinese Stepmother, My Skater Brother, My Sister, Magazine Editorials, USA Bloggers, Tumblr Kids, Music Videos, Store Lookbooks, Nordic Bloggers, Lookbook, Online "Top Trends" Lists, Pinterest, Grazia, La Garconne, My Local Mall, My Best Friends, My Enemies, Aussie Bloggers, That Chick I Talk To At The Cafe Who I REALLY Want To Ask Where She Gets Her Hair Done But I Don't Want To Come Across As Super Creepy, Supreme Ads, Old Photos In Grandmas Photo Albums, Tyler The Creator, Jalouse, The Cool Girl at Country Road, P'Trique, Magazine "How To Wear..." Articles, More Tumblr Kids, Barkers 1972 Magazine, Mr Porter, Kiwi Bloggers, Nerd Boyfriend, Margaret Howell Campaigns, Opening Ceremony, Tomboy Style, Any Lookbook by Any Kiwi Designer, Trade Me sellers, Chictopia, British Bloggers, ASOS Fashion Finder, Blogs Run By Labels, Blogs That Just ReBlog Other Images But Are Not A Tumblr But I Think You Call Them Inspiration Blogs?, My Self As A Kid In Those Horrible Portraits Your Parents Think Are A Good Idea To Give To Grandparents At Christmas, People At The Park, People Who Work In Shops, People Who Don't Work, People Who Go To Uni, Old Issues Of LIFE That You Can Look At Online, Tilda Swinton, Weekend Newspapers, The Olsens, A Mate Of Mine's Girlfriend, The Dude Who Works In Barkers But Never On A Sunday,...basically anyone, anywhere at anytime. Like how most people get influenced.
I guess I'm just not as cool as you who must dress how you want, in a way that no one else dresses or has ever dressed ever, perhaps in labels no one has even discovered yet from people that are so underground only the "cool kids" know about them and without the influence of anything but that innate sense of style you were born with. And maybe you get to express your individualistic style on the daily, safe in the knowledge that people probably look to you for inspiration. Good for you. I take my 5 panel hat off to you. Well done. I'm going back to put on my S Club 7 albums and cry in a corner because you hurt my K-Lowe inspired feelings while I was dressed head to toe in what can only be described as FashionToast-esque outfit. -
Hello and no. I think the only time was a giraffe mask that I was going to wear ALL THE TIME to stay anon. Then I realised that was a stupid idea. If you're going online you can't be anon :)

They are el cheapo knock offs from Rubi Shoes AKA Cotton On.

Originated from West, creeped to the Shore, got sucked back out West and have triumphantly returned - Albany.

With great difficulty :) I sell a few things online, buy only what I REALLY want [no chain store cheapies because $7 here and there every week is STILL adding up to a lot] and save, save, save. If you take a close look, I don't have new stuff very often. Plus, I do swapsies with mates.
-
Thanks...YOU'RE really cool :)

Sometimes it just has to be done [the act of grinching :)] I think all in-laws take a paper at Uni to be horrible.
Jumpsuits are the new low rider skinny's :) -
Read the blog...you'll get your answer :)

With 'buy' I can only assume you mean 'buys' no one worth their salt would ask me the impossible of naming only one. So, my Hi-Fives for the season:
1. Sherie Muijs jumpsuit
2. Doc 1461's
3. Twentyseven names 'Wooden Ships' dress
4. Karen Walker grey flannel boat pants
5. Country Road navy merino....not a day goes by without throwing that in the mix. -
Yeah but nah. Yeah, I do own a Polaroid but getting stock is expensive and you never know what quality you'll get- a lot of it is expired and not stored well. Got myself a Fuji Instax to scratch the itch for instant gratification- though, it too is not the cheapest form of entertainment at $20 for cartridges of 10. Nah, don'ts got an iphone....work in progress.
-
No photoshop, my friend, I don't have it. Just mucking with the tint in standard windows. Otherwise, what you see is what you get, is what I took.
-
Thanks. I've been in hibernation. It's good to be back.

Stores that sell stuff.
Only in my dreams.
Seriously though, I've read a few articles [and am tracking down a book that I don't actually know the name of, wish me luck] about the whole fast-fashion/consumerism thing and over the last 12 months have been making a conscientious effort to make considered purchases when it comes to clothing. I'm becoming a follower of slow fashion. I have a process and set of rules that I buy by.
1. Plan my wardrobe in advance: when the new collections show, I write lists, I cull, rewrite and come up with a succinct idea of what I want and start saving my ass off.
2. Consider whether the items on the list fit my personal aesthetic or if I'm just jumping on a bandwagon [so easy to do with the hype that can explode over the bloggerville in regards to the latest "it" item]. If it's an item out of the norm, I have to really think if it's a whim or I'm looking at adding a newness to my sartorial repertoire.
3. Have to REALLY want it.
4. Have to REALLY NEED it.
5. Buy local labels/designers: it costs more but I'm buying less and appreciating it more. If it gets outdated, I can: alter it, sell it, archive it for when that garment no doubt resurfaces as the shape/colour du jour. And there's is nothing like supporting your own country's talent. It's my form of patriotism.
6. If it's not local, it's an investment piece and it's ethical.
Sometimes I need to go for more affordable option so;
Country Road
Barkers/Little Brother
Rodd & Gunn
KMart
Dotti
Cue
And this was the short answer..... -
Do I have a job or sake money? Oooooh...I see. Not right now and no. I'm surviving off air and love. I get the odd donation from passers by who assume I'm homeless and I'll probably only buy alcohol and cigarettes.
-
At the very beginning...a very good place to start. I kid, I kid....I no kid...no I kid.
You're not gonna get a profound answer, so don't expect too much.
Blog original content as much as you can, your point of view, on something you are passionate about. You don't necessarily have to be an expert on your chosen blog topic/genre but have a genuine intense love for it.
Then cross your eyes, fingers, toes and 'ts' and spam everyone else's blogs. I kid, I kid...I no kid...no I kid. -
As soon as I don't have a little fella who needs me [not easy to self-time AND raise a human] and when I don't have an ass with it's own zipcode.
