I would really need to see it to know what I think of it personally, but it all really comes down to personal taste: if you like it, you should wear it regardless of what anyone else might think!

Those articles are really just intended as discussion points, so people can talk about what they think of current trends, rather than to tell people what they "should" be wearing, which isn't what our site is about, really: it's more about finding out what suits you, and what YOU like, rather than following fashion trends. Find out what kind of styles flatter your shape and work with your lifestyle and taste - no one else can tell you what you should be buying or wearing!

It might look a bit unusual, depending on where you live (where I live, for instance, people would look at you as if you'd grown a second head, but they do that if you wear anything that isn't denim/leggings), but "usual" isn't a bad thing! When I visit sunnier places I quite often see people using umbrellas to shelter themselves from the sun, so I think a parasol would be a much prettier alternative, and could look very chic :)

Best idea is to visit the boutique and find out what the other staff are wearing, so you can work out what's appropriate. Or just ask what the dress code is :)
-
I haven't seen that particular variation, but I do know people who will turn down the top off a dress and wear it as a skirt (I've done this myself with a strapless dress I wouldn't have worn otherwise), so I guess it would probably work the other way around, too!

When you're dealing with a very conservative dress code, such as you're likely to find in parliament, I'd say the best way to add colour/personality in general is through accessories: look for bright necklaces or scarves, interesting brooches or other pieces of jewellery which will make the look more interesting without being inappropriate. You may also be able to get away with an unusual or brightly coloured pair of shoes, and if you're wearing a suit, perhaps try a one of the many blouses/shirts that are around right now underneath.

22. I just like the way it looks.

I think it would really depend on the items and the exact shades. I probably wouldn't combine those colours personally, but I've put up a post on the blog to see what everyone else thinks: http://www.thefashionpolice.net/2011/08/can-i-wear-maroon-and-teal-together.html

I would try and mix in some more "feminine" textures, like a silk top or lace-trimmed dress, or something similar. I also see a lot of people wearing Oxfords with things like tea dresses, which can look cute.

I'm not an expert on makeup, but I would imagine most colours would work with grey.

I'm the wrong person to ask about this - I think sneakers are only for the gym!
-
Sorry, I'm afraid I don't understand this question...

I'm going to be writing a post on this soon, but a great coat and boots are top of my list for winter - if you have those, you can be wearing anything you like underneath and still look stylish. I also normally buy things like knitted dresses, cute hoisery in lots of different colours, and a selection of knitwear that can be dressed up or down.

What you can wear depends on your body shape, not your weight. So you'd need to be more specific!

It really depends on the club - some polo events can be fairly formal, but you'll also people dressed more casually. Bear in mind that you'll be outside all day, so dress for the weather first of all, and choose shoes that'll be OK to walk in on grass. If the weather's nice, I'd probably go for a summery dress. Pear shapes look good in dresses that draw attention to the top of the body, so look for unusal necklines (or try a statement necklace), and maybe a flared or a-line skirt. Emoire lines and wrap dresses can also look good.

Whatever's best for you. I wouldn't personally wear hose in the summer at all, but you should wear whatever makes you comfortable.
-
I'd say ankle or shoe boots would work best.
