it's not a masterpiece, although it might be blasphemous per se, neither do I also think that it's intended to ridicule Jesus Christ. The artworks are Mideo's way of expressing how he feels towards those who worships "things" or probably on the very essence of idolatry. If I would understand Mideo, I think it's like this... if you really have faith on the unseen Jesus Christ, whatever I do to his sculpture, portrait, etc.shouldn't matter at all, since what's important is Christ's presence in us, in our hearts, no need for any concrete image, just the faith itself. -
