Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, and John 19 tell of Jesus being tried by Pilate.
-
Matthew 27:26, and John 19:1 mention Jesus being beaten at the order of Pilate. Isaiah 50:6 and 53:5 predicted this would happen.

Grieved, but hopeful. Remember, the gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16-17). The gospel is that Christ died for our sins, and God raised Him from the dead (1 Cor. 15:1-4). God is sovereign in the salvation of sinners (Rom. 9), and He chooses to save people through faith in His proclaimed word (Rom. 10:17). If your child is going to be saved, it will be because it heard the gospel of Christ's death and resurrection, and God gave it faith in Him.

1 Corinthians 7..."It is better to marry than to burn". Marriage and due benevolence in marriage, is God's provision for promoting purity and holiness. What are "purity rings"? I'm not aware of any Bible teaching on that subject.

Glory to God. Grace and peace to you.

I'm Christian. Biblical Christianity is the _only_ religion that has a God who saves men by grace, through faith in Christ's death and resurrection, and apart from human merit. All other religions try to make room for man to boast about how he saved or helped save himself.
-
Elect means God decides who will be saved, so God will get all the glory, and no man can boast that man's will or merits saved him (Romans 9). When Adam sinned, his fallen human nature passed on to all men. Ephesians says man's fallen nature is spiritually dead towards God, mentally darkened, and morally depraved. So man is free to choose, but only within the limits of his fallen nature, which the Bible says is always at enmity against God, and incapable of submitting itself to Him (Romans 8:17). When God saves someone, He has to give them a new nature, working in them both to will and do of His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).

The Bible says whoever believes in Jesus will have eternal life. Believe He died to pay for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead. Rely on His death and resurrection to make you right with God, and not on yourself. You should experience relief and joy that you are right with God and have been saved from the penalty of your sins.

By becoming a man (Philippians 2). Christ's death and resurrection pays for our sin.
-
It's a figure of speech to show that Christ's death and resurrection gives God a just ground to forgive and cleanse us of our sin forever.
-
"Because you gave me saving faith in Christ's death and resurrection as your gracious payment for my sin."
-
He had to die in our place in order to satisfy God's just demands against our sin (Romans 3). The benefit is that those who believe in Christ do not have to spend eternity in hell, and God gets glory for being a just yet merciful and gracious Savior.
-
To satisfy God's just demands against our sins, by dying for them on a cross. This brings Him glory not only for being righteous in punishing sin, but also gracious and merciful in saving sinners who believe Christ died for their sins and rose.

I believe the Bible is God's word because of fulfilled prophecy, the lives it's changed, because obedience to what it teaches confirms it, and because it glorifies God rather than man (http://bit.ly/8a7tpP). Thanks for your question.

There are many reasons God allows suffering. Suffering is often the natural consequence of our freedom to choose, it warns us of danger, it focuses our hope on eternal things, it teaches us God is a God of comfort, it shows us how to comfort others, it shakes confidence in ourselves, and builds confidence in God, etc. Please see http://bit.ly/bgmp32

Randy’s Bio
I believe the death and resurrection of Christ paid for our sins, and faith in Him is the only way to escape eternal damnation and enjoy eternal life. I want to answer your questions about God, the Bible, your eternal welfare, or other spiritual things.
