i've only ever heard anything about her online. and at first i couldn't tell if she was really obnoxious or not, but then i heard the album version of her song 'national anthem' and i absolutely loved it. i actually think she's a pretty cool chick, i'd be her friend.

i always say this, but, 'veronika decides to die' by paulo coelho. it is my most beloved read. also, 'lolita', 'rebecca', 'we have always lived in the castle', and 'flowers in the attic'.

he's not really my type, but he does have a handsome quality to him. if that makes any sense...

nope. well, i guess i can't say for sure, but it doesn't seem likely, as it's too soon after my most recent period and i'm pretty sure i haven't ovulated yet. hoo-hoo, tmi!

this is such a sticky subject, really. and this whole topic is still a learning experience for me, but i am not anti-vaccinations at all. i am just wary, and i research the heck out of any immunisations that anyone i care about or myself are due to receive. believe me, as someone in the medical field, i see both sides of the argument clearly, and i understand (and see every single day) the importance of many immunisations and the relevance they have in the stabilisation of a country. on the other hand, it is not so much the actual vaccines that i am so wary of, but the greed of the pharmaceutical companies which produce them, as well as the questionable ingredients used and the side-effects. this is what i struggle with, and this is what i am always trying to find out more about. i think a lot of the people in real anti-vaccination movement are actually quite ignorant, and what they are doing/promoting is extremely dangerous. after learning up a lot on this topic, i realise that in europe we are a lot luckier than, say, in north america, as we have fewer vaccinations (and hey, are still just as healthy, if not moreso). i still chose not to have my cat vaccinated, because most of the vaccines he "should" have received are truly unnecessary for him, as he will never go outside, and i highly believe that a healthy diet and the correct nutrition will be his best bet in avoiding other rare illness. as a nurse, i am always up-to-date in my inoculations, though sometimes i resent certain ones. i would never do anything to potentially heighten the risk of disease or illness to another person (i realise that my own personal choices could affect a random stranger, so i always keep that in mind just as much as my own welfare), and so while i am wary and critical of the many vaccines out there right now, i will always put responsibility first. and, contrary to what may be popular belief, when i have children, i WILL have them receive the most crucial of inoculations, though i admit this will probably be done on a delayed schedule to keep from having too much done at one time.

i was legally married in a civil ceremony, as neither my husband nor i are religious. my sister, as well as his youngest sister were our two witnesses, and it was over pretty quickly. it was very business-like. afterwards, the two of us went for celebratory ice cream cones. my actual wedding party, which took place that saturday, was very low-key, with only fifty guests of our closest family and friends. it took place at a beautiful little cottage we rented, and we had a big marquee set up outside for partying and eating. it was kind of rainy, but very cozy inside the marquee. it was just a big, fun celebration with our loved ones. lots of delicious, warm foods, and lots of dancing.

i read 'haunted' specifically for the 'guts' story because i just kept hearing so much about it. it was one of the grossest things i'd ever read in my life. i've tried to read something else by him, but i just can't get into it. not my cup of tea.

i think it was more a gradual realisation than anything else. and i get what you're attempting to say with "enjoy your marriage a while", but your wording is all wrong, it's like you are implying that married people are only supposed to enjoy being married for a little while, and then they are supposed to get bored or start hating each other, and that's when having children factors in, to put a spring back into their step or to follow a set guideline. i, for one, plan to enjoy my marriage all the rest of my life. i guess i just don't view marriage quite the way you (or maybe even most people these days) do. you're all so cynical! but anyhow, the other thing is, i'm not having a baby right now anyway, silly! i've just gone off the pill and i'm not even pregnant yet (at least i don't think i am). cooking up a baby and popping it out takes nine months, and before i even get to that part i actually have to get pregnant first! conceiving doesn't always happen right away, so this may take some time. it's not like i'm going to give birth tomorrow! don't worry about my marriage, lovely. it'll be more than fine, with or without baby sooner or later.

good christ, this is really a loaded question. if it was premeditated though, that means the person had enough time/awareness to think the whole situation out 'rationally', which would make it really hard to defend as truly self-defence. ultimately, i think it would all depend on the individual situation. there are a ton of options a person has to get themselves out of an abusive relationship, and i would hope that in most cases murder wouldn't have to be very high up on that list of options, but sometimes, perhaps, options are taken away/monitored, and it is the only way in that moment in time. ... i actually have no idea what i'm talking about...

i guess i am pretty confident, yeah. but i've had my share of insecurities. the thing with me though is, i've learnt to accept and appreciate who and what i am, both on the physical side and mentally. this is my body, i'm only ever going to have one, and so i treat it well and love it the best i can. one thing i really do sort of get annoyed with though is that i have, what are lovingly referred to as, "fairy ears", and one of them just so happens to stick out a little further than the other. it's ridiculous.
,mmmmmmmmmmmmm <--- that's from my cat... i think he's saying hello.

at ten minutes to midnight i was with my girl friends, running through town trying to make it in time to the pub all our boys were at so we could give them big smooches when midnight hit. we made it in time, and it was really nice.

i like baking, spending the afternoon wandering around town or in the woods, reading, being with my family or friends. those sort of really typical kinds of things.

mint chocolate chip, or chocolate raspberry swirl. i love most ice creams though, i'm not picky when it comes to sweets!

is it weird that i'm not even pregnant yet but i do already, unofficially, know what i will name my future child? i like the name ryan for a boy, and james likes the name holly for a girl. surprisingly, i am not one of those people who likes really odd names.

anne sexton!, i especially liked her when i was a miserable teenaged girl. but to be honest, i'm not very interested in a lot of poetry, i just don't seem to 'get' most of it. i do enjoy pablo neruda though, and some e.e. cummings. my favourite poem by anne sexton is 'her kind'; my favourite by pablo neruda is sonnet XVII from '100 love sonnets'; and my favourite e.e. cummings poem is his 'i like my body...' one.
