      I left the PHP scene a while ago and I'm not sure how to use the latest version or what the best practices are anymore. My advice: learn the basics of PHP, then learn a framework. It'll help you get up and running with more complex web apps. Frameworks I recommend: Kohana, CakePHP, CodeIgniter (as a last resort).

      I'm going to give you a break from the religious questioning. You're quite the tech whiz so what's your computer set up like? Anything super awesome?

      I just use a run of the mill 13' MacBook. I've got some cool music equipment (I guess) but my computer setup is rather generic.
