I heard you need to ask permission to take photo's on private property. So how do you go about asking, do you need to have some contract with them? How does that work. And, how do you know if it is private property or not?

If it's obvious that it is private property, just ask permission. I have never had a problem with asking anyone. Sometimes poeple say no, but thats the worst that can happen. I don't have a contract with anyone, and most places I shoot at our public. :)
