I sort and rate my pictures using Adobe Bridge, I never use lightroom. :)

I take about 1,000+ photos at my shoot, go home sort through them all, pick all my favs, then re-pick favs again to narrow it down better, then I save all my favs in a different folder, and delete all that didn't make the cut! I edit those the "favs", burn a disc of the edited ones for me, label it and keep it. Then I give my client the same disc, I have a about 4 disc bins full of past photo shoots. Yes my computer has alot of space but it is constantly being sorted out and there is never the same files on my computer for that long. And I do have my back up drive that I only plug in after a shoot and back up, but I do also only have the current shoots on my back up drive as well. :)
I hope that awnsered your question good enough! -
That is one thing I only give away at my one on one mentorships.. But if you use a good sharpening action and then web re size, it should really crisp up your photo! ;)

I know!!! I am sorry to all my PSE fans! One day I will I promise!

Thank you! I'm glad to inspire, I am 27, and started 3 years ago and I believe you are never too old for anything! I don't have a studio, I usually shoot on location but when I do newborns I do them at my house in my living room and use the natural lighting throught the windows. :)

If it's obvious that it is private property, just ask permission. I have never had a problem with asking anyone. Sometimes poeple say no, but thats the worst that can happen. I don't have a contract with anyone, and most places I shoot at our public. :)

I do believe in pricing for your market, but I also believe in pricing for what you think your worth. Add up all the expense and time its going to take you and cost you. Never sell yourself short. I think I started out charging around $100 a session when I was a new photographer, and then just went up from there. My most used and favorite lens is my 85mm 1.8, and I also love my 50mm 1.4.
Good Luck! :) -
What specifically are you wondering? Pricing? Camera gear?
-
Yes, I prefer a wide open aperture. Just be sure your focus is on your subjects faces or else it might turn out blurry. A good rule of thumb is however many poeple are in the picture is what you should set your aperture at. :)
-
This happens to me sometimes too. If your moving around and not holding still you can create camera shake which will cause blur. Try holding still and using your arms to stabilize your camera.
-
Most canon SLR lenses should fit your SLR canon camera, but they might not function as good if say the lens was made for a certain line of cameras etc.. I have a 24mm canon lens that was used on a film camera at one point and is still compatible with my camera. :)
-
It completly depends on lighting, and how much I am exposing. and my shutter speed is constantly changing whenever my camera moves. If your wanting to capture fast movement I would suggest having your shutter atleast 800+
-
yes, the faster you can get your shutter speed the more movement and focus you can achieve.
-
Good question! When shooting a family I usually set my focal points back to auto that way my camera will detect their faces. If it's just two people sometimes I will just manually put my focal point in between both of their faces as long as they are close together.
-
Yes, I toggle between focal points. I always try to compose while I'm taking the picture. And I usually set my focal point on their face, or if its an up close picture I focus on the eyes, and yes, usually the eye closest to the camera. :)
-
I left out the part where I set at evaluative metering.. :)
