Hmmm...thats a toughie. I really loved Philly, Austin and all the Florida cities (we were in Florida for the winter and it was AWESOME).

Thank you :) My birthday show was really fun and everyone made it pretty special. I got some great cards and a few gifts (some of which were a surprise) and it was an all around great day.

We are only allowed to give backstage tours to close friends and family. Sorry, its monitored pretty closely :(

Hotels, Extended Stay hotels (rooms with kitchens), houses, apartments, vacation rentals. We typically do the normal things on a performance day including working out, checking e-mail, hobbies, some people take classes online, etc.

A standby is a person who doesn't play another role in the show, who basically "stands by" if the lead cannot go on or needs to call out mid-show. Understudies play other roles in the show (usually ensemble tracks) and know both roles. A "swing" goes on for an understudy if he/she are on or out sick. There are 3 male and 3 female swings in the building every night.

Our Stage Manager acts as in house maintainer of the show. He runs the understudy rehearsals and watches the show to make sure things are of the same quality every night. We have some associate directors/choreographers that come out every few months to check-in, give notes, and occasionally run rehearsals for brush-up. Our director, Joe Mantello comes out periodically to check-in as well which is always a treat.
Understudies are used as needed. We are here to be ready to go on at a moments notice and to cover vacation/medical leaves. -

As an original member of this company I was able to create much of the choreography along with our incredible creative team to suit me and my character....so I guess that includes a lot of turns :) I never really thought about it, but I guess there are a few turns in there. Actually some that were originally there have been taken out, etc. so there are less now :)

Not as much as I have heard other tours have, thats for sure! But, we are a little family who travels around the country so from time to time we might be a little short with one another or not be as considerate, etc. It's bound to happen, but I would say everyone handles the stress and "bubble" with grace for the most part.

I've kept everything I've gotten! I have re dived lots of candy (tootsie rolls & twix!), cards, stuffed animals, drawings, jewelry, ceramics, homemade crafts and recently a really cool Team Elphaba shirt. I am always blown away when someone is so thoughtful to think of me!!
