I love it! I'm in SE (Hawthorne), and hardly leave my neighborhood because everything I need is within walking or biking distance. Wait, you're from the Midwest, right? I'm from Illinois. Weather is much milder here. If you like books, beer, bikes, books, and coffee, this is the place to be. Well, I don't like beer, but still...Portland really has its own flavor. You should try it.
