i think it's hard to know how you feel about something like this until you've known the pain of those who wanted the help.

i always thought it was interesting that we would put animals to sleep so that they wouldn't have to suffer when there was nothing left. but when there's nothing left for people, we make them hold on - even in pain - until the absolute last second. i wonder if that's more cruel. simply because people have such a hard time letting go. who gets to decide?
