I get up at around 1:30 a.m. and get to the station at 3:00 a.m.... and yes, it is hard! It can be difficult to make yourself go to bed in the early evening hours, and it's just a strange feeling to be waking up and going to work when most people are still sleeping. But I do enjoy getting out of work around lunch time :) Coffee is definitely one of my morning must-haves! Thanks for watching!!

The area our station broadcasts to is south of you... people in southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, and western Kentucky get our news. You're close though! :)

Glad to hear that (for the most part) everything has worked! :) The Almay 1-Coat Nourishing Mascara Triple Effect is the one I like... it's different from the regular 1-coat Nourishing version.

I actually JUST picked it up over the weekend... plan to incorporate it into a NYX 1-brand tutorial/review! :D

Personally, I don't like rules where makeup is concerned. I can see why the makeup artist told you that as a guideline, but there are so many possibilities... I don't think you should confine yourself to just one pattern. You could do an all matte eye look or an all shimmer eye look. You could use a series of colors or just one color. I do enjoy shimmer on the lid, because I think it makes the eye pop and I also like some shimmer around the tear duct. The truth is, I often combine finishes by doing shimmer on the inner portion of the lid, and a deeper matte shade on the outer half. Sometimes I'll use one slightly shimmery shade on the lid AND the crease, because the shimmer actually creates a shadowed effect when applied to the crease. There are just endless options. I'm sorry If I made things more confusing by saying that, but yes, there are so many ways to do eyes, and I think your best bet is to experiment, take pictures, and decide what ways you like it best! :D

I totally do! :( But in a way, I feel like makeup has filled that "hobby" void in my life that was there when I graduated and couldn't cheer anymore. I mean, cheerleading was my PASSION and I just loved training, choreographing, and everything. Now I feel like makeup and doing blogs & videos has taken over that role. So I guess my advice is to try to find something else you love that you can funnel your energy into! It'll make your transition from cheerleading much easier! Or you could also look into a coaching or assistant coaching role where you live! :D

Thank you! :) Personally, I just use a lip balm that's not too slick as a lip primer. Basically- it's hydrating the lips, giving them a smoother texture for the products you'll put on top. I love the EOS Smooth Sphere lip balms for that purpose... they're hydrating, yet not greasy so you don't feel like the lipstick/liner/etc. you put on top is sliding all over the place. It may not do everything that the $31 product you're talking about will do- but it seems to do the job for me! :)

I don't think there's one distinct overall requirement where looks are concerned for news anchors. It kind of depends what the station's prorities are (and this will vary from location to location)- but the main things are experience, writing ability, voice, and personality. As far as looks- a few things that seem to be important across the board, are looking clean, polished, and put together (not gaudy). Basically, you want to look nice, and also not distract from your primary purpose, which is to share the news. I think those things are achievable for anyone, but you have to make a point to pay attention to them. I always want to have on clothes that match, neat hair, not too many accessories, appropriate makeup, etc. I'm kind of rambling here... but let's put it this way- I don't think I have the looks to be a news anchor when I roll out of bed, but with a little primping I think anyone can get "the look". There's just some efford involved :)

that's a nickname I've called my sister Kelly ever since childhood :)

Yeah :( that's why it wasn't back in the Emily Awards this year. But NYX Mega Shine gloss in cosmo is pretty similar! :)

I have the QVC New Beauty Test Tube on autodelivery and I've been happy with every one of those that I've received. You get lots of products, and some are full size. I've discovered so many favorite things through them, so that's that "beauty grab bag" type thing I'm going with :)

yay! Thank you so much! :D glad you're enjoying it!!

It's fine, and naturally straight. Kind of hard to handle at times.

Yes I lived in a dorm. It was awesome :)

Hmm... is there a chance you're applying too much? Just a thought.
