Great question! The best marketing strategy that I still know today is word of mouth. If you do an incredible job for your clients they will talk about you. The same is also true in reverse. :-) Social networking is huge in today's world, but it is basically a 21st century version of people communicating just like we always have.
Facebook and blogging were huge for me in my first year! Constantly feeding past clients and potential clients with new content is in my opinion one of the best marketing strategies with the smallest price tag out there.
Of course I also added traditional advertising and marketing to the mix. (Local magazine advertisements, bridal fairs, and cross promotions.)
I'm not sure if there is only one system that works, I think as long as you have a positive attitude and you always treat your clients like they are gold, then half of your work is already done. The wedding industry is a very personal and people connected business, a great marketing strategy would reflect this.
Hope this helps a little!

Directly after I wrap a wedding or portrait session I import and back up the files on a 5 bay Drobo-S http://www.drobo.com/
I also backup my images on a small, slow portable WD 1TB hardrive so that when I travel I have access to my images. If I am already mobile when I'm shooting, the process is reversed. I back up on the portable drive and laptop while on the road and then the Drobo when I get back home. -
July 20th 1969 Apollo 11 landing on the moon. Really incredible that when a group of people set their mind to something, the things that they can accomplish.

When I was in the 3rd grade we had a field day. Last day of school. We were allowed to bring anything and spend all days playing outside. I took a disposable camera and spent the whole day taking photos of my best friends, and a girl that I had a crush on. Those were some of the first photos I remember taking. I still have them. They help me remember those times. :-)

I do my best to stay out of the way of the guest's view, so yeah, sure. On occasion I have to get down to get the shot.

TV easy. No question about it. If fact I may just go throw that thing away right now. Haha, just kidding.

This is a tricky question to answer. It total depends on the setting. The best answer is, I'm usually where I can be. I move around so that I can get alternative views and to not limit my creativity.

I have a lot of great influences in my career. Some of the professionals who influenced me are [b]ecker, Mike Colon, and Chase Jarvis. My fiance' (girlfriend at the time) was a great support, and my brother kept me motivated to not settle for the standard 9-5.

Not every photo I take is a winner, but no regrets.
