Do you mean when I decide to do a new comic project, or when I actually work on the pages?
It depends on the specific project. With BD, it's to draw a bunch of silly stuff going on, though if I'm not in an ideal mood when I'm actually drawing pages, the goal changes to "get 'er done! Bufferbufferbuffer!"
For Senka, the goal is a secret <3
The goals for my side projects tend to be more art-focused, such as practising some sort of action or enjoying some scenery.
In every case, I guess the goal is for me to have fun drawing or writing something I don't usually draw/write. -
Usually I don't feel like eating anything D: I'm a ridiculously bad eater, I get full from eating one orange.
I'd love some tea, and I think I'll go have some right now. I'd also love some cereal, but I need to save it for breakfast tomorrow. -
I'd love to see Alain go batshit crazy and cut some people up with his scalpels!
His original design was more of that crazy surgeon type, so that has always been something I wanted to see, even though I turned him into a fail!assassin in the story. -
The universe, though I suppose some might consider that animate.

Panelling, but that's with every comic I do. BD specifically... Draco, probably. He's more expressive than any of my own characters, so every emotional outburst (ie, every panel) is something new for me.
Alain's big syringe is pretty challenging too, but I think that's mostly done. -
That's part of it, or at least how it starts out. Draco isn't perfect either!

Tommy is not one of the two men, Tommy is the one that died ):
Draco deserves someone better than a killer, don't you think? -
My files are already good for print, so I'd just go get some quotes from multiple printers and go with the one with the best quality for the buck.
I'm not a fan of POD (I like being 100% sure that the books I send out are of good quality, something I can't do with POD), so I would use non-POD printers. I already have a couple in mind to get quotes and samples from, should I decide to get comics printed.
To fund the books, I would most likely do pre-orders. The amount of interest would also determine the printer I use. It's unlikely that I could do a large run, though, none of my comics are that popular. -
I live in the US, in New Jersey. I'll probably have to move this or next year, and when I do, it'll hopefully be to New York City.

The job I'm working now :] I work from home so I can live wherever I want and it leaves me enough time to work on my comic. I really hope I can hang onto it.

Most of the "detail" is suggested and doesn't take long. And the "realism" is all in your mind too. Compare any given panel to reality or a photo, and you'll see that BD is quite stylised in many ways. It's just my drawing style, with some extra simplification to make it fast/easy to draw.

Character names.
Everything else tends to fall into place, but names do not. -
Draco: Not much. I have to see more dead people because of Alain and I don't like them, but um, they're still just people. People with sad stories.
Aside from the them, there's nothing I see at work that would bother anyone. I don't usually have to do a lot. -
I chat online with the authors for a few (maybe 3?) of the comics I read, so I know when they update.
With the others, it's usually luck. -
In a way; it's a bit different in BD. His fear is that of immediate intimacy for the sake of intimacy. Alain bypasses it without even realizing it simply by not seeking intimacy, but letting it happen on its own. You'll see soon, all this happens in chapters 2+3.

I'm really glad you like them! I think good comics should be shared, so I'll definitely be sharing more as I find them. I don't read very many comics, unfortunately ): I also tend to forget to pimp things even though I'd like to, haha. WWFB, for example, was supposed to be recommended a week earlier ._.

It sounded nice. There's a bit more to it, but it's spoilerish, so read at your own risk.
A "dram" is 1/8 of an ounce or, figuratively, any small quantity of something. During the time of BD, drams were still used by doctors and pharmacists in prescriptions, signified by an ezh (ℨ).
"Black" has all sorts of negative connotations in western culture. So, "black dram" can mean poison, figurative and literal. There were initially several characters using literal poisons, but we changed things around, so now most of the "poison" is figurative. -
BD has script with the dialogue and actions, nothing on pagination or layout (an edited RP log). Pages are sketched a few at a time to make sure the entire scene flows correctly. Sometimes I'll have a strong idea for the visuals/layout of a page, but usually I just sketch panels that have to happen until I get something that looks okay. All the planning happens in the sketch phase, because I sketch digitally and can change things around until I'm happy.
Senka has no script, and the thumbnails are done separately from the sketches. The dialogue is written out while I thumbnail the chapter (thumbing is done a chapter at a time, rather than a scene at a time like BD). Aside from that, it's a lot like BD. I have the scene I need to draw, and I sketch out ways to show that scene until I have something that works. -
I did, though it wasn't really an "idea for Black Dram" exactly. It all started with me wanting a character who had a fancy syringe, then I told Shea I wanted to have an RP with a Victorian setting. She picked Draco and so it went, the plot emerged quickly enough. If it could be called that.

Not really. Makes finding a job tough, since I don't really care for anything else, but don't want to do art as a job either.
