it started off as just an easy, quick little joke, and then i thought it would be funny to make it more weird and convoluted as it went along. this is kind of what i do with everything i make, the where's my shoe comics are the best example of this. anyways i talked about this more in an earlier post.
as for the couch, i don't want to reveal that secret just yet -
i think i picked unbreakable because i was going to break it. the movie itself is pretty good.

They are all "spur of the moment" things that I make up as I go. I never know what the next video is going to be. Even as they've become more and more elaborate, I still don't really plan anything. Even when I record, I don't really know what I'm going to say.
Some things are just happy accidents, and some are editing tricks or something. Like I accidentally threw out that broken Unbreakable DVD a while ago, so in later videos I used a different CD and just never showed the other side of it, and nobody could tell the difference. And none of the flashback scenes were recorded in advance. Everything is posted on whatever day I recorded it.
Most of the things I break in the videos are things I was never going to use again. I figure it's more fun to use them as props in a dumb video than to just leave them sitting around or throw them away. The only thing I bought specifically for a video is a second copy of Unbreakable.
Also it's like most of the other stuff I write; I'm building off of something I've already done, if that makes sense. Like, in one video I wore a bandage because I cut my finger smashing a coffee pot, and from that I decided that this character is constantly cutting himself and wearing more and more bandages, and that becomes part of the canon or whatever.
So yeah... I make those videos for fun, and because there is something wrong with me. Thank you. -
I own two that I'm wearing right now, and two others that I bought and then found out they were too small and then made a video wear I cut the laces off those shoes. I guess I also have some nice-looking "dress shoes" somewhere, that I wear maybe once every 2 years when I go somewhere that requires me to try and look like a real adult. I don't know where those shoes are right now so I can't answer that part of the question.

My friend @johnnypcomics posts about this movie on Twitter at least twice a day. Let's say he's been doing this for about a year, that's roughly 730 times I have been linked to the Beserk movie trailer. I think I finally watched the trailer after the 400th post but I don't really remember it. That's how excited I am for the Beserk movie. I can't even spell Berserk right most of the time.

uhhhh next month? i've really gotten more into making things that are easy to finish in one day, which is why iglosers and the tutorial videos exist. also i just think i'm better at writing and doing voices than i am at animating. or i have more fun doing those things, at least. so my next cartoon will probably be like "a hole to china", where the characters all stand around talking and occasionally move their arms or something. i hope this answer doesn't come off as depressing like the space tree one probably did.

I always want to do something with those characters, but it's like every year I work on at least one Space Tree-related project that I never finish. So if and when I do that this year, I'm not going to announce it or anything because I feel bad about all the times I've done that before. This is a weird answer, I'm sorry. I don't know. 2012.
