They're both bad. But I believe NFL is worse due to the number of stoppages/time outs it has. I gather a game can last several hours. Also, it's a poor man's rugby with all the protection they use. The culture of machoism is detrimental to young society too.

Yes. I dont think it's a unreasonable assumption. To think that we're the only ones in the whole universe is rather arrogant. Whether the life is intelligent or not is another matter.
