No. It focuses automatically :)

Know what your style is and stick to it. If you are trying 10 different actions every time you edit an image that is going to take awhile. Know what you want to do and do it every time. It will cut down on editing time and your work will be consistent.

My 50 1.2 is pretty sharp at all apertures. My aperture is different for different shots, but I typically shoot it at somewhere between 2.0 and 2.8.

I've never calibrated my monitor.
-
My second shooters just give me their raw files. They don't do any editing.

Have tons of patience :) The baby rules the show! My favorite lens for everything is the 50 1.2.

You are too funny... the AMAZING DrewB? Yes, I shoot a lot so there are always lots of out takes. I've been shooting long enough where I don't get a ton of out of focus pictures or bad exposures. It just comes with practice. But, I of course get a lot of closed eyes and funny faces. The only way to get a great shot is to experiment and put yourself out there. I take about 900 images per portrait session and I don't even know how many per wedding. A lot!

That's a tough one! You just have to set time aside and do it. Running has become the thing I do for me. If I have to wake up at 6:30 to get it done I do it. It makes me feel good about myself. Also, I do my best to set office hours and put my cell phone away at a decent time (so I'm not checking email when I should be spending time with my family). Lastly, I don't overbook myself. Two shoots a week max (okay, maybe 3 if it's someone I really want to work with!).

I don't do anything to eyes in photoshop. It's all about good light, a good lens, and shooting at a low aperture. I don't do anything in photoshop because I don't want my clients to look like they have alien eyes. You can tell when eyes are photoshopped and it's just not the look I'm going for.

I actually use my 5D Mark II as my backup camera. I use two cameras during the ceremony and I switch to my 5D Mark II for the reception because I think it focuses better in low light. I also carry a 30D in my bag just in case!

Hi!
I always feel like my photos look professional... But like everyone, I definitely have self doubt at times. I think it's part of being an artist :)
I have gained confidence with experience. -
Mom*tog was originally a Pro Photo blog. My friend Jamie tricked it out (www.sodivinedesigns.com). It's not a Pro Photo Blog anymore because another friend made is so I could have advertising on the side rather than just on the bottom.
The DrewB blog was done by Redwing Studios. It's getting a facelift very soon! -
That is an excellent question! The answer is not soon enough.
All I have to say is, make sure you have a clear vision of exactly what you want before you pay someone to design your site for you. Don't expect anyone to do that work for you. -
I have one 580 EX and one 580 EX II. I use different modes for different things.

Haha :) Yep! It sure is. Just added California Gurls by Katie Perry, though. I think that's my new go to song when I need to get pumped!

Hi! It's individual letters from Urban Outfitters.

Just the standard, boring iphone ring. I almost always have it on vibrate though. I guess it's a habit from when Brayden was a baby and slept a lot. I never wanted my phone to wake him up!

I sure do. Just ask the questions that you need to know to make their day run smoothly.
