My favorite thing to shoot is portraits of people with character. My Twitter tag says and that seems like the best way to describe the people I love to shoot. Lately that's meant musicians and athletes.
My favorite lens is also my newest, the Nikon 85mm 1.4. Every time I put that lens on my camera I feel like my photos just get instantly better - from the DoF to the focal length, that lens rocks. The biggest thing about it though (for me, because I tend to compose TIGHT), is that it focuses closer than my 70-200. -
Take better photos. Seriously. The better work you do, the more people will talk about you and the "word" (for lack of a better term), will spread.
Also, people love "behind the scenes" and "how I did this" blog posts - insights into creativity are always a big hit. -
You can see the links on my blog (http://www.dougblogs.com), but quickly, Dan Winters, Gregory Heisler, Sam Jones and Platon to name a few

There are two types of people. People who create problems, and people who solve them, be a problem solver.
