I actually started my career as a Nuclear Electrician in the United States Navy. The 6 years in the US Navy provided me with a rich experience in troubleshooting systems to identify and repair issues with them. I left the US Navy and went to work for a Newspaper and that same tenacity and troubleshooting capability was applied to Intranet databases, automation, reporting and development.
Staying in the industry, I shifted my focus to database marketing and applied the same techniques - analyzing systems, finding weaknesses and opportunities, and instituting corrections. As the newspaper industry weakened, I made the move to online and loved it. Instead of waiting weeks on campaigns, we were able to track and optimize campaigns in hours or even minutes! -
