Oh I guess what drew me back to film was the incomparable look of a b&w image - the mood, intensity, imperfection, grit, grain -- it still looks right to my eye, it's how I imagine things to be. Then there's the beautiful range of many dims, which is where digital sensors still fall short, although they are improving. I also like the unmatched wildness of xpro, and the variety of tones and palettes that film provides. I have a much better understanding of color from working with film although it's still a challenge to translate that to digital post-processing.

It makes them soar like eagles... glittery eagles.

I enjoy saying "that sucks ass"

Those ones you can heat up and slap some icing on? Yep.

Well the one lens would be the noct! Sort of ambivalent about camera. The d700 is by far the most valuable but I'd probably grab the m3 since the noct is attached to it!

Anchor steam, Guinness, hitachino, Widmer jefe, PBR. To

When I order prints from photoworks (here in sf, online at www.photoworkssf.com), I ask for sloppy or supersloppy borders and they add them when they print.
I develop my own b&w negs, but I haven't done any printing since college, which was ... A little while ago now. -
Blue bottle usually. Jack's, four barrel, and peet's occasionally. 2-4/day.

I think it's better. Seriously.

Please phrase your non-question in the form of a question. =p

B&W definitely. And color, but I'm picky and am rarely satisfied with my own color stuff. Cindy, Lauren, Tommy Oshima, and a few others really do color right. I think I'm one of the 10% of the population who often dreams in B&W and sees in B&W, so I enjoy shooting B&W film. In fact, I just developed 5 rolls of it. I also gravitate toward digital B&W processing.

Yes. Yes I did.

Yes. SF by a hair, for the weather. But my roots are NYC. I was born there, in Greenwich village, NYC, and my extended family is in Brooklyn and a PATH ride away in nj
