Do you consider yourself pro- or anti-medication? (i.e. anti-depressants, Ritalin, etc.)

If I had to choose one side or the other, I'd say pro. I know that some doctors out there are over prescribing. I know that some cases of, say, depression, need to be treated with therapy/life changes/etc. in addition to pharmaceutical therapies. But being ADD I have personal experience with medications and I know they can and do help {and I know I'm not the only one}. I think some people in our culture rail against ADHD meds because they think it's just a discipline issue but these people, if they had any clue what living with AD/HD is really like would not say that. Medicate case by case of course. Some people prefer to use managing tricks to deal with mild cases. And I salute them. And some people just don't like the side affects. But if you need it you need it and that is between you and your doctor and not any of my business.
