I was watchin the news, heard some sad stories (child abuse) i couldnt sleep all night from it. How do you hear all those stories and news every day & not get depressed? maybe i am just too sensitive. stories always hit me hard. i try not to watch news :(

I guess I look at it from the mindset that even though these are sad things are happening in the world, usually when they make their way to a newscast... justice is happening, or at least people are working toward justice. For example- when we run stories about someone being arrested for something... abuse, armed robbery, you name it... it's sad that it's happened, but the arrest as been made. Or if police have surveillance video of a criminal and are asking the public for help tracking them down- they may not have the guy in custody but we're one step closer. So I guess when you're doing the news day after day, that's the side of things you have to be thinking about. Or if a family's house has burned down- more often than not, someone hears about their pain and wants to donate items to them. Don't get me wrong, there are senseless crimes that you read about and it just leaves you confused and disappointed. But what's also really sad are all the problems in the world that are going totally unnoticed and aren't making their way to a newscast or through the justice system.

Another thing that keeps me in a better frame of mind is the type of reporting I get to do. While the vast majority of the news does appear to be very negative, I do a weekly report called the "Unsung Hero" where I meet someone extraordinary every week who is doing something to better the lives of others. I suppose that even though so many stories are so sad... this gives me a little bit of balance.

HI:) You are my fav guru. You are so sweet, talented,& inspiring. You prob seen me commenting on videos and tweeting you, but I am 75 subs away from reaching 1000 subs on my beauty channel. Do you have any advice for me so i can reach that goal soon?

My advice is to not be too hung up on numbers. Make the videos you want to make on your channel, have fun with it, and don't be too intent on hitting certain subscriber milestones. That shouldn't be the motivating force behind a YouTube channel. When I started my channel- I made videos because I liked doing them and I felt like I was helping people. Sometimes it makes me sad when I see how many people are just wanting to hit a certain subscriber number. Subscribers may come and go-- but if you're doing videos that you're passionate about, nobody can take that excitement away from you! :) Good luck with everything!!

I've never used mac foundations before I have extra dry skin and with winter coming up its worse. Would you recomend the mac pro longwear? What foundation would you recomend? (Any brand)

I've tried 2 MAC foundations- one is Pro Longwear, and the other is Mineralized Skinfinish liquid foundation. The mineralized skinfinish definitely provides more moisture & would be better for dry skin! It gives the skin a really radiant look :)

What would you recommend in terms of clothing, make up, hair etc for job interviews?

Overall, I think neat & clean should be your motto for a job interview. Choose an outfit that fits, isn't distracting, and isn't too skimpy. A pant suit or skirt suit is usually a good idea. There are a lot of acceptable things you could do with your hair (down, half up, low ponytail, etc.) but just make sure it's neat and fairly conservative. For makeup, go for a natural, classy look. Use neutrals on the eyes and I think a slightly deeper lip can give a really polished look. Hope this gives you some ideas!

Can you tell us 10 things about you that we DO NOT already know? And then can you ask all your friends you follow the same question? :]

I'm sure there are some people out there who're close to me that will know this stuff, but I'll do my best!

      1. I was born in Iowa

      3. My dad was my principal throughout grade school and jr. high
      4. I can do one-armed push-ups
      5. I enjoy playing practical jokes on my co-workers and husband
      6. One of my first TV news inspirations was an elderly man who did agriculture reports
      7. We've had our family cat (Mr. Nut) since I was in 4th grade.
      8. I've never had a professional massage
      9. I have a big singing voice

what things do you like about your husband? what things would you like to change?

One thing I like about Tyler is that he really balances me out. I tend to be more talkative, outgoing, etc... but he's more calm and handles situations in a very calm, relaxed manner. It's interesting how some people will see a video with the two of us and say things like "You never let him talk!!!" When in reality, Tyler is totally content with letting me be the "spokesperson" (especially in a beauty video, for crying out loud!). He tends to have the dry, witty one-liners in my sea of babbling. Tyler also has a fantastic sense of humor, is very intelligent, humble, and kind-hearted. He's a big, muscley guy (6'6")- but he never flaunts his size and just has a way about him that makes people like him. I don't think the guy has any enemies.

If there was something I could change about him... I wish he'd pick up after himself more. He's not super neat. Early on in our relationship, he was very shy... but definitely came out of his shell. As for the important qualities, I wouldn't change a thing. And I'm incredibly lucky to be able to say that. :)

you have an extremely whiny voice

aren't you a little ray of sunshine

    11. Emily Eddington

You have a troll face kk

Is it odd that the most annoying part of this comment to me is that you wrote "kk"? I've never understood why people do that.

People judge me at school because I am not the most gorgeous person on the planet... I know other people on the internet will say, "Everyone is beautiful in their own way." I know that! But people don't understand what goes on in high school. :(

I know what you're talking about. I was bullied in jr. high and it is such a lonely feeling. You run into a lot of immature "mean girls" in jr. high and high school who are more concerned with their own social status than doing the right thing. Back in Jr. High I stuck up for a girl in my class that was getting teased and it was as if I had a target on my back from that moment on. Things DID get better though. Here are the reasons why...

      1. People grow up. It takes some people longer than others, but trust me, eventually they do.

      2. I didn't give bullies the satisfaction of bringing me down. I kept smiling, and kept doing my thing, regardless of what they said or did. Really, it simplified things... I didn't have to wonder what to do or say, or how to react... I just knew I was going to be nice to them & turn the other cheek. It isn't always easy, but it is the right thing to do. Realize that by being nice, you ARE being the bigger person. And eventually you'll wear them out :)

      3. I fueled my passion into things that I liked... hobbies like art and reading. I did things that made me happy and proud of myself. Get involved with things that can build your confidence and help you hold your head high.

I hope this helps you. I know you're going through a difficult time, but know that you will eventually get through it and things WILL get better! :)

Hm how do I say this without seeming rude? The whole cat involvement has gotten obnoxious... sorry :( A few bloopers are entertaining. But repeatedly acknowledging Cupcake during videos and now a Twitter? I don't know lol.

I don't repeatedly acknowledge her in videos... I'd say I spend the vast majority of my time talking about makeup. And I often get messages or tweets asking for more Cupcake Cam :)

The great thing about Twitter is that you can choose to follow, or not follow whoever you want. :)

Bottom line... including Cupcake in things now and then makes me happy and I have fun with it.
