Hey! The best way is just to drop them a friendly, concise email introducing yourself and letting them know that you'd love to test with their new faces. Attach a portfolio link and examples of recent work that reflect the sort of work you hope to shoot with their models, and wait and see what they think!

Sometimes they don't always reply as they get incredibly busy at times with things like fashion week (like right now for example - I'd wait until LFW is over till you contact them), but try a good selection of agencies and see where it takes you. Good luck! :D

Ahh I see! I'd recommend taking a look into 85mm and 135mm lenses - if you can it'd probably be best to try and rent or borrow either to see how you get on with them and how they suit your needs and things on-shoot.

See if you can look into trying out Canon's 85mm 1.8 (not one I own, but I've used it before and it was lovely), and the 135mm f/2. The 135mm is a bit of a crazy focal length but it produces the most amazing background blur and it's priced incredibly well considering it's an L lens!

What limitations are you facing with it? ie. focal length (too wide, too close), image quality, etc. I'd be happy to make some suggestions, it'd just be mega useful to know some more info about the limits you are facing with it :-)

At the moment I am still using an old Velbon tripod that I borrowed from my dad when I started shooting self-portraits years ago, but I am hoping to upgrade this year when I've saved up a bit of money. If anybody has any recommendations for lightweight yet study tripods let me know! :D

I do! I use Hoya PRO-1 Digital UV filters on all of my lenses which go on pretty much the second I take a new lens out of its box, haha :-)

I'm not sure if it's any different on the other templates, but I'll talk you through it on my one ("original left") just in case it helps!

      1. Go to the Design tab on the top and then click the button that says Customise Website Design
      2. It should then bring up a page which shows your website layout, with a window on the side called Customise Design
      3. Click the "General" tab on the bottom of the Customise Design window
      4. Click the "Logo Image" option and you should see an option to upload an image of your choice!

As I said, this is just what works for me, but I would imagine they use the same principle throughout the site so I hope it helps you out! :-)

I always used to use a big Canon shoulder camera bag to carry all my stuff in, but after 4 years or so it fell to bits and I've just switched to a Mountainsmith Kit Cube. It's basically a padded camera case that you can insert into a bag and turn any bag into a camera bag (provided it fits!) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mountainsmith-Cube-Black-Camera-Case/dp/B0038WBYY8

Having said all of this I have completely fallen in love with Grafea's leather camera bags and would love to own one one day - they are absolutely beautiful.

Not at the moment, no. Natural light is my favourite! I'm hoping to invest in a lighting kit over the next few months though so I can start incorporating it into my work :D

Between 12-16 I would say on average.. it's a bit of a guess as I'm not at my computer at the moment though! Quality over quantity always :-)

This is probably a bit of a rubbish answer but I think it's mainly down to having a bit too much practice taking them, haha! I have been shooting them ever since I started taking photos, but either way I still find it useful to take a few test shots before hand to check the composition, just in case I get it super wrong. Usually I'll find a particular place to stand/sit and keep returning to it and adjusting my pose/position until I have exactly what I want :):) I hope this helps!

Not a huge amount - maybe one or two. I tend to want to start with something lighter and then we add to it as we go along, making the eyes or lips bolder to suit certain looks or to experiment a little bit!

To be honest I am not super clued-up on any camera specifications other than my own camera so I'm not sure how much help I'll be! I think the 600D is targeted at consumers, and the 60D at slightly more serious photographers, but they both have small sensors. I think the 60D has a higher frame rate, a bigger camera body/screen etc and is maybe better weather sealed.

I find one of the best places to look up camera specifications is on www.dpreview.com - they do super in depth reviews and will hopefully help you choose which one is best for your needs! If the cameras are/were available to buy at the same point in time you may be able to find some articles comparing the two of them by googling "Canon 600D vs 60D" or similar, as camera magazines and blogs tend to write about that sort of stuff as people always find it useful!

I'm sorry I can't be of more help - I'm sure you'll make the right decision though :D Good luck!

For the creatives on the shoot (make up, models, stylists) I tend to give both resized and high-res, but for agencies I only really bother sending them the high-res files as they will know what to do with them and how they want them sized etc :-)

With WeTransfer, I tend to just send two emails to people, one with high-res and one with resized, or I'll send as one and just append the resized files with "_web" or something. I hope this helps!

Hey! I hope I'm not too late with my reply - Formspring never emailed me about this message :( I think the main things are basically to try and keep a good communication going with the agency and confirm everything on the run up to the shoot, and the night before make sure you have everything packed and sorted so you are all worry free the next day. Good luck! :D

That's amazing to hear, I am so happy for you! I used to send ZIP files to agencies but at some point my zip files stopped being compatible with everybody's computers (no idea why!) so I moved to using WeTransfer to send them over. It's a fantastic service - you don't need to pay and they even email you when the person has downloaded the files. Highly recommended!

Thank you! I find the ones that inspire me the most are ones I've met and have become friends with as a result - having their friendship, support and talent around is a wonderful thing and can pull me out from the strongest of creative blocks!

I can never choose one ultimate favourite picture - it changes all the time but it tends to be from my latest shoot.. until my next shoot haha!
