Hmmm. That's a good question.
I certainly don't consciously base my characters on people I know in real life, and I haven't noticed enough similarities between my characters and people I know to suspect that I do so unconsciously, but I might to an extent of which I'm not aware. I'm better at noticing similarities between my characters and myself than I am at noticing similarities between my characters and the people in my life, but that might just be symptomatic of the standard "they're all different sides of me" answer you get from a lot of writers.
The unconscious can be a crazy thing, though, so there could easily be more going on there than I realize :P -
You know, I don't think he was. I'm sure he had a few little teenage flings before he married Electra, but I have trouble seeing him in love with anyone but Thetis at this point. Granted, that may just be because I haven't written about him being in love with anyone else, but Florian doesn't seem like the type who falls in love at the drop of a hat :P

As for the IFV question, yes, Juliette's younger two children are Kent's (as gross as that is to think about). Juliette hasn't had sex with anyone other than Kent since she married him... er, yet ;) -
Hmmm, that's a good question. It's quite possible that some of them were in the beginning, at least subconsciously (for example, start-of-Naroni Severin seems somewhat like middle-of-Lothere Alred at points, even though I had a very different idea of him before I actually started writing). At this point, however--or at least, so far as I can see, and as the author I probably do have a bias--anyone who seemed much like a Lothere character in the beginning has deviated since then. They've had different experiences, different relationships. At this point in the story, I don't really see much of any given Lothere character in any given Naroni character, but I might do a reread one of these days and find otherwise.
