      I generally believe display campaigns are slated to be as valuable as search in the not too distant future.

      do you think combing clickstream data (eg, google analytics, omtr, yahoo web analytics, whatever...) with survey data improves the usefulness of web analytics or just gives more angles and hypothesis? Alternatively, more data or more testing?

      web analytics is in essence about a) collect data, b) report on data and c) derive insight on data. enhancing any of these will move you forward.

      Where survey data is the act of getting more data, and most of that is NEW dimensions and metrics. So in short YES - it does indeed improve the usefulness.

      You're known in the WAA as the Board member with Really BIG goals. Which are the most important three goals that should get priority?

      - Standards (to the point where we see a real offline to online shift)
      - Education (making sure that WAA educated folks get those min. 100K jobs)
      - Regulation. (That we behave, and perhaps even advocate to the extent, where we can keep our tracking methodologies)

      .. and if we succeed on that. Why is it that we can’t be 30,000 members ?

      When tracking clicks from the homepage adding ?ref=home gives me 25 clicks in YWA but 550 in GA. Why is there such a big difference? (ywa gave me 525 non ref clicks so the hit is being measured withouth the query parameter)

      ga and ywa tend to report fairly close to each other, so I am sure there is a deployment issue some where. Go hook up with those fine folks in support; http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/ywa/forms/ywa_support_form.html

      What keeps you going ?

      …as an entrepreneur; I find the bootstrapped struggle from idea to company to first success almost romantic. - the concept of “against all odds” is certainly a big driver for me.

      Will Yahoo analytics be available for everyone as Google Analytics? If you answer yes on the first one, here comes the second question: I love to use it on my blog, will you make a plugin to implement it as easy as Google Analytics?

      no (we shoot only to serve the head end of the market - say something like the top 100,000 advertisers). nb. the deployment is no worse or no better than GA.

      I hat to compare it, but wht's the best thing YWA has over GA?

      Access to real-time raw un-aggregated data, is a product feature I personally fall in love with again and again. :-)

      Is web analytics easy, or hard?

      if web analytics = creating valuable business insights based on in most cases click stream data then HARD! If web analytics = installing a java script in your footer and then look up a most popular page report then EASY!
