If you want to contact me (Joy) the author of this blog - you can reach me at my email address DecidingforLife@gmail.com. I'm not sure what teen moms you're wanting to get in contact with but let me know and I'll see what I can do to help you!

I have been watching off and on, but I've been trying to keep my website from becoming nothing but comments and observations about it!

I don't like watching TV on my computer, if I can't watch it on the TV - I just don't watch it.

I went for a four day weekend to California (that's two time zones away) I never got adjusted to the time change. Even worse it was an "action packed trip" so feeling tired at all the wrong times just ruined it.

I have a denim jacket from high school that I still wear, usually it's my movie jacket. My Mom used to love to buy clothes I could "grow into" I have no idea how much growing she was expecting with this jacket!

Before I had even selected birth parents I knew I wanted a semi-open adoption - I wanted pictures and updates, but I didn't want visitation. I just didn't think I was strong enough to see my baby and say good-bye over and over again. When Beth and John put in their package for adoption, they told me that they were "advised" that it would be really hard to find birthparents who would be willing to have a semi-open (or closed) adoption but I've learned since then that there are some birthmothers that chose even less contact than I did.
I know I practically preach it but really you have to find what is comfortable and what works for you in adoption and you have to communicate that clearly with the other people involved. I admit that some requests are probably harder to accommodate (Cory from MTV's 16 and Pregnant expressed his desire to have his son every other weekend - I don't know if that would have been feasible for any adoptive parents) but if your requests are reasonable, I think that most adoption professionals and adoptive parents would be happy to work with you to meet your needs.
