Hi! While it has a hefty price tag I say invest in the 5d Mark II. It is great for portraits and weddings. In terms of lenses, I always think it's important to invest in great glass. The 50mm 1.2 and the 85mm 1.2 are BEAUTIFUL portrait lenses. If you want to avoid the crazy price tag, start out with the 50 1.4 or 85 1.8 which are both significantly less than their L series counterparts.
      Hope that's helpful!

I would much rather take a picture than have my picture taken. But I have been behind the camera, and it's not all that bad;)

I may be the only one, I love, LOVE, shooting people on the dance floor having fun:) I also love when just one image can express the love two people have for one another.

Honestly, I am taking my que from Jasmine Star on this one. My thinking is that I dont want TOO much on Facebook, as you start to loose control of your work and open the potential for stealing or whatever. AND I want to point my clients and potential clients, ALWAYS, back to my website and blog, not keep them on Facebook. I also like the idea of doing a best of instead of a couple by couple basis, as it puts all my work together. I want clients to be tagged in a wedding or engagement or portrait album, which gives more potential for people to click through the whole album and see my work as a whole not just that specific client.

I don't have just one....I find inspiration from a bunch of photographers, Dorthea Lange and Mary Ellen Mark got me started on my love for photojournalism and documentary photography. James Nachtwey is absolutely amazing, maybe the best photographer in the world. In the wedding photography world, I'd have to say I love Jasmine Star, Melissa Jill, Morgan Matters. There are so many to choose from!:)
