thank you! haha the gordon brown post was one of my personal favourites. I clicked 'publish' and then thought to myself 'did I just do that?.'

they're a jamie oliver recipe from the current issue of this magazine. in all honesty the turned out to be a bit of a disaster! they didn't rise properly and I'm not quite sure why. in my opinion they tasted more like apple and cinnamon than chai but I'm hoping to have a round two so go here if you fancy giving them a go. let me know how they turn out!

I have no idea at all! this is something I've been struggling thinking about for the last week. I'd love a swedish Palgrens bag like Madelene from Le Portillon (http://portillon.wordpress.com) but sure they'd be very practical during rain and don't know where I'd find one. Have you any ideas about bags? Everything I like the idea of is more summer-appropriate.

WHSmith in town. Derbyshires which is the little newsagents opposite Clifton Down shopping centre is always good for magazines and I think they'd have it there too. Because it's published by Conde Nast, Love isn't too tricky to find. You could maybe even try supermarkets.

I got my results last year. A in English and Bs in History and Art. I have to say this really was a surprise, I did much better than I'd expected.

not really besides washing my face with a gentle foam cleanser and using suncream instead of moisturiser. I use banana boat factor 50 which I bought when I was out in the US. my skincare regime actually involves weird things like making sure I change my pillows often to avoid bacteria build up rubbing onto my face as I sleep (lovely) and using fresh towels to dry my face.

i use tv links and surf the channel but depending on what you want to watch a good old fashioned search for the show plus the words watch/stream/torrent into google should work?

it varies as I have quite a few. but as a complete frugal freak I buy some real cheapies. If you're in the UK you'll know 17 for Boots (hot chilli is a particularly lovely orangey red) and Natural Collection (try rose petal moisture shine for a 60s baby pink). Otherwise I also have a nice nude 'forbidden flower' from Edward Bess (it contains fig extract which makes it smell amazing) and Chanel's no 14 rouge allure which is a goodie as it suits all skin tones. PHEW. hope that helps though please note I'm really no beauty expert!

yes, or I suppose it kickstarted it again as it was probably (huge cliche, I know) Lost In Translation that sparked it in the first place. but norwegian wood was certainly responsible (I got so much pleasure out of reading that story) along with www.hellosandwich.blogspot.com which I have bookmarked at the moment. I bought Sputnik Sweetheart the other day to see if I love Murakami a second time round. Have you any book recommendations in general? Or particular works by Murakami that you love?

make the most of the ucas site. and use the hotline as much as you need to, the advisors are lovely and incredibly patient and helpful. writing a personal statement is just one of those things that will always be difficult to do. but avoid cliched phrases. and just be honest. it's kind of like writing an essay in that you have to keep the sentences simple and avoid the tendency to overcomplicate things. don't say 'i'm applying this course because I love this subject' say why it's a subject that you love. use links and references to back this up. ie, you want to take english because it's always been the subject you've got the most pleasure out of at school and excelled in which is shown thrown bla bla bla exam grade.
this has turned into a bit of an essay itself, oh dear. talk about the things you're most proud of and don't think that doing so makes you an egotist. also it's not cheating to ask people to help you. sometimes other people can make you realise the simplicity of what you're trying to say. shoot me an email if you want to know anything more! -
I went to St Georges which is an old church in Bristol where they've been holding lots of interesting talks this year. It's also where I saw Brian Eno and Steward Brand talking back at the start of the year. I guess I'm just quite up to scratch with events going on around the city. I just check online calendars for local arts centres, theatres, cinemas etc.

Nowhere in London had the course that I wanted to do and though I definitely see myself living there a few years down the line I didn't fancy living there whilst studying. Having grown up in Bristol (a city I completely love) I also wanted to live in the North for a bit in a city that is much bigger but with similarities in terms of the arts and music scene.

wear with chunky jumpers (arran, camel cashmere, grey or black mohair) and layers (duffle coats, sheepskin, tartan scarf) for autumn.
for summer wear with black sheer button up shirts, leopard print tee shirts, or go down the route of this girl who I think looks quite simply amazing (though the gap teeth may help..) http://tinyurl.com/36apkl7 -
very basic. i use sun cream instead of moisturiser, foundation, mascara and then depending on my mood a little black eyeliner rubbed just under my lower lashes, or a little pink cream blusher but more often lipstick in a rusty colour which is called 'raisin'.

I feel like I should have more recommendations up my sleeve than I do. If you're around at the weekend go to The Garage on 112 West 25th Street; lots of great old cameras, felt fedoras, old election badges, furs and trinkets to be found. And don't be afraid to haggle!
Of course the Museum of Modern Art- entry is pricey but worth it. Take a book to the Library in Bryant Park purely for the beautiful ceiling in the reading room.
I'm racking my brains here to think of more but I'd say New York is the best city for just walking and finding cool places yourself. Wish I'd done this more in the LES.
Have fun! -
I've mulled this question over in my mind near obsessively. I guess the one person I come back to is Chloe Sevigny though really I feel that if I was going to swap lives it should be someone whose tastes aren't so similar. Maybe I'd be a guy? Or someone like Julie Delpy whose whole lifestyle philosophy I admire.

an early start, up at about 8am. go to the local market, maybe grab some nice food; some avocado for a salad and a nice loaf of bread. buy a couple books from the second hand stall, grab the papers and head home for lunch and reading and maybe watch an old film.
late afternoon head down to the waterfront with a couple of friends for a mojito (this is an ideal day so I can afford lavish drinks..) and lots of talking and people watching. walk up to cabot tower and grab a lamb and haloumi wrap from 'the magic roll' before a night of enthusiastic dancing at mothers ruin or start the bus. sigh. -
I have a huge stack in front of my mirror propped up on the floor which I'm looking at right now.
