Some filmmakers have expressed that they want people to pirate their stuff. The overwhelmingly vast majority don't. I think in general, one should respect the wishes of the filmmaker or content creator. So the answer to your question is "yes, depending on the circumstances."

I will be taking a look, just to see if all the creators' claims about how they crossed the Uncanny Valley are actually true. I highly doubt it.

The best i can really recommend is the podcasting guide I wrote for /Film:

      http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/09/12/films-guide-to-podcasting-tips-and-tricks-on-how-to-create-your-own-podcast/

Start working on all of those things before you worry about traffic. Also, feel free to drop me a line with a link to your podcast. I always listen to at least ONE episode of every podcast that is sent my way, even if I don't have time to give feedback.

I LOVE taking trains, especially the Acela Express. Great view, and the feeling of intense motion. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd ride it a lot more often.

No, but I have other irrational fears: Fear of dying in a plane crash, and fear of being caught in a time travel paradox.

Between The /Filmcast, the Tobolowsky Files, and other future podcast projects in the pipeline (???), haven't really had much time for lifecasts.

But if you keep following me on Twitter, it's very likely that at random points in the near/distant i'll fire up skype and a webcam to chat with cool people and broadcast it. This may or may not happen more often this semester, we'll see.

The joy and intention of the /Filmcast for me was just being able to talk about films with a bunch of people whose work I've admired. It has has perhaps served other purposes on top of this (e.g. making the community feel smaller), but that was the primary goal. I'd like to think we allow listeners to get a better sense of the guest writers' personalities (most of whom don't podcast regularly) but you can ask the guests if they feel this is true.

My favorite overall film of his is probably Terminator 2. Titanic, The Abyss, Avatar all had amazing moments, sequences, and set pieces, but Terminator 2 just works as a whole for me.

Lord of the Rings is probably the most consistent throughout, but storytelling-wise it's still clunky in a lot of places (mostly due to the fact that they're all adaptations).

I really enjoyed Godfather 1 and 2, but haven't seen 3 for fear it will sully my opinion of the series.

Star Wars Trilogy would probably go here, but then the prequels came out.

It's the ending that had to happen. And I'm not going to cry any tears for any of the characters in that film, least of all the protagonist.

Huge fan. I have a lot of affection for the programs that my high school did: My Favorite Year, Rags, Cabaret. They really did a kickass job with those, often transcending their source material. I've also enjoyed Fiddler on the Roof and Chicago. Keen to check out some of the newer stuff happening in the musical theater world, but don't have much time for that these days.

OH, and also! Notre Dame de Paris (the original French version) is perhaps one of my favorite musicals of all time.

[I have never seen The Producers or The Lion King. I'm told this is a huge loss for me. I believe it.]

I don't think I've eaten enough different types of food to be able to give a good answer.

I think I'd be happy with a 16 oz Kansas City prime rib, cooked medium rare. Scalloped potatoes. Buttered rice pilaf. New England Clam Chowder. New York Cheesecake for dessert.

But the moral of this question for me is: Try mor foods.

Darren Aronofsky. Or P.T. Anderson. But that's off the top of my head, with a gun to my head.

I have a variety of songs on my ipod that I feel are appropriate for running, but a lot of it is VERY specific tracks. In general though? I'd say for techno, go with Lady Gaga. And for movie music, go with Hans Zimmer or John Powell. And the music they use in movie trailers and other types of commercials.

      Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=volIlLCZ3nM

Those are the two types of music that I use. And yes, I know it's weird.
