I'm quite fond of RANT by Chuck Palahniuk. The graphic depiction of the sinew and bone, the die-cut hole revealing the single "R" of the title. It's gorgeous.

The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak. I'd say I cried pretty consistently throughout the last third of that book. The Fault in Our Stars is a close second.

As for movie news. My answer is always: I'm making the damn movie in my backyard. It's just unfortunate that I can't afford special effects, the actors keep getting killed. Sad. -

Nope. I've read VERY little fanfic, but I think it's a fun thing for people to do and hone their writing skills on. A good friend of mine wrote fanfic for a long time before becoming a big NYT bestselling author!
