Those games are developed by two different studios - and yes, seriously, the team took the idea of graphic novels very seriously and wanted a graphic noir art style that would make the game look like you were playing one of Jackie's stories instead of reading it.

"All By Myself" in a horrific childlike voice because I'm tone deaf. I do this sometimes on Mumble when I am trying to play a game with friends and they won't respond to me. It's super sad.
