In order for a fundraiser to count as service the funds raised from the event must be going to an separate cause or non-profit organization other than Circle K (ex. March of Dimes or UNICEF). If the fundraiser is for administrative purposes and funding the Circle K club itself then it cannot count as a service event. If the fundraiser meets that criteria then anyone who helped plan the fundraiser and/or volunteer during it can receive service hours. Members cannot receive service hours simply for attending a fundraiser even if the money is going to a non-profit organization.
-
Hours at a non-Circle K event can count towards your MRP, but the event has to be opened up to the entire club. For example, if you are in another organization and they have an event going on where they need volunteers, you must advertise it to your whole Circle K club for it to count as Circle K service hours.

Some of our favorite service projects are...
1) R.O.C.K: a weekly event where underprivileged children in the SF area get a chance to be active by learning new sports (Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball)
2) Book Doctor: fixing, cleaning and organizing children's books that are given away for free to promote literacy
3) Boys and Girls Club: a weekly event where our club goes help out these kids by tutoring, having fun with board games, and serving them lunch at a rough side of town
4) Key to college: informing college kids of how to get to
college and what to expect and making fun of high schoolers
5) Hands on Science - The chapter organizes science lessons with a local elementary school which incorporate information and hands on activities. -
Everyone in the District Service Team and CNH Circle K is awesome. =D
