I think Jot Touch works with any gadget that has capacitive screen (touch screen). :)

Based on this PDF link (Googled it!): http://adonit.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Jot-Pro.pdf

"The Jot Pro will work with any capacitive screen including iPads, iPhones, MacBook Trackpads, Magic Trackpads, HTC, Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, Blackberry. It will not work with Wacom tablets or Cintiq monitors, since these use different technology. It will only function on a PC if a capacitive touch monitor is being used, but will not work with a regular monitor. Note that the risk of scratching is minimal when the Jot Touch is used with a hardened glass capacitive touch screen, but touch screen monitors for PCs may not use such a glass screen."

If you're applying for a visualizer, designer or art director position, YES. I feel that it is necessary, especially for visualizers because you'd be drawing lots of story boards and lots of other things. :)

I'm assuming what you meant by "If I don't know anyone?" is that you don't know anyone personally, or you haven't been personally introduced to anyone?

If that's the case, here are my suggestions:
      1. Just suck the shyness up and introduce yourself nicely. If you know the person (not personally) but through their works, simply say hi, introduce yourself and tell them why they are significant to you.

      Example: "Hi, you're <artist's name>, right? I'm <your name>. I'm a fan of your works and I'm like to <draw/paint/take photos/design> as well. I particularly like <favorite work of the artist.> Thanks! :)"

      2. Let social networking ease you into the conversation. If you're really shy. Talk to other artists online first. Then just say hi when you see each other personally.

To put it simply, it's all for the LOVE. :) But practically, here's what I do: I keep myself motivated by looking at other artists' (local or foreign) works. I get that funny feeling - some people call it competition, some call it inspiration - either way, I feel that. And I start wanting to create something on my own. Having an idol and getting to know him/her and his/her process sort of motivates you. For me, my idols would be: Alex Ross, Norman Rockwell and Brett Helquist. I usually would read about them and their process and get all inspired. :)

Hmm, I don't print my instagram pictures.
I think instagram photos are around 72dpi only so, it's only good for viewing.

Well, you don't need to, really. But it's my personal preference to put my signature so when people check my website or share my artworks (hopefully) online, they see that I made it. :)

For the art thieves: with or without signature, if they wanna steal your artwork, they will. But I personally think that once you upload your works online, you're exposing it to everyone -- even art thieves. That's the price you pay. But the gains, I think, are bigger. :) Actually, if someone steals your artwork, I know it feels bad, but the flip side of it is that it's so beautiful other people stole it. ;)

First, define creative professionals. What field? Film? Advertising? Illustration? But to answer your question based on my personal and professional experience, being good at traditional and digital art would be great but what matters more is your ability to come up with insightful and innovative ideas. It always boils down to having a great concept and knowing the best tools to make it possible. Dapat hindi lang sa technique awesome, dapat sa concepts rin.
