Hm..I don't know if it had anything to do with being Filipino, but my mom had some queer friends in the Philippines (and have some relatives here too). Having them in her life I feel made her more accepting than if she had not been exposed to queer folks before. Because I knew she wouldn't completely remove me from her life, I was able to accept my identity more than fear it. However, I never experienced a direct link between being Filipino and acceptance.

Mmm.. Confidence? That's kinda typical. Here's something people usually don't know. I kinda like it when someone keeps me on an edge. If I feel too comfortable, if you show me I have nothing to be afraid about right off the bat, then I'll lose interest. I like being a little insecure, but don't push me off the edge. It keeps me interested at first, but then I'd like for it to go away.

I've watched you when you played in high school and was ranked in the US. And I dreamed to be like you. Thats also why I ran for senate. Haha =]

Wow. I totally forgot about that dream. Sadly I never applied and I don't think I ever will =/. I never thought I'd say this but grades are a tough obstacle for me.

I would like to say passionate and (sometimes) hardworking. I want to say approachable but I don't know how well my countenance can vouch for that.

All of the above. Its a unique experience. Academia is just a small facet of what Berkeley has to offer. The student groups here provide you learning experiences on so many levels. And if you're lucky like me, I got to learn sooo much from so many different angles just by the decisions I made.

When I was younger, I had 20/15, which was better than perfect vision. I could see better than anyone else. And then, I started using a computer. Years later, I am at around 20/400. Yikes.

Don't be! I'm glad I inspired someone during this entire process. You should approach me so we can talk about this some more too! And no, I will not be president haha. Another big part of school is retention. I need to make up for what's gonna happen to my grades next year haha.
