Because I think that I am average looking. I mean, it's as simple as that.
There are girls with better/worse bone structure, hair, facial expressions, breasts, waist/stomach, and many other things than me, so I believe that I am "average".
I don't think there's much that makes me special. I'm just me.
**And, no, I'm really not saying that to get compliments, so please don't think I am and try to fix my viewpoint or anything like that. I just feel that way.** -
I don't believe I've ever said I've hated it. I have no problem when people compliment my breasts. What I do have a problem with is how someone says it, and in what context.
I usually discourage comments about them because when others see them then they might think "Hey, I can go ahead and say extremely inappropriate things to this girl." (You may not think that happens, but trust me, it does.) But I have no problem when people compliment them from a strictly artistic standpoint.
I've blocked people for comments that compliment my breasts in a sexual way (and those usually involve someone saying what they'd like to do with/on them/me). I generally just remove the comment but if someone says like "Oh, your tits are amazing. I'd love to suck on your nipples and cum all over them" then I will block them. They may feel that way, but I seriously do not need to know about it.
My view is that if you wouldn't say something to someone you just met, then you shouldn't say it to someone you don't know on the internet. -
You know, I only know the reaction from my mom and my step dad. I honestly have no idea what the reaction from my other family members is or would be.
In the beginning my mom would go from hesitant about my nude-work, to downright mean and I thought she hated it. It actually made me feel really bad about myself and what I was doing, because if there was such a problem with it, I thought it was wrong to be enjoying it. Slowly as she realized exactly what I was doing and saw more and more of my work she warmed up to it, and now she's very supportive of it. She's gone with me to buy wardrobe for shoots and has picked out skimpy dresses for me (which I thought was hilarious), and she's recently been pointing out good shoot locations and tells us whether or not it'd be a good places for nudes of not.
I feel like my step dad was supportive from the beginning, which really meant a lot to me, because he's been my best friend since he came into my life when I was 13.
I can only guess most of my other family member's reactions. My half-sister once saw a picture of me on Facebook that I took before I started modelling, and because of where my hands were you couldn't tell that I had been wearing a bra/bikini (I don't remember what I had been wearing) with my skirt and she sent me a really nasty message about it. I think that it would be something like that.
I have an uncle and a few cousins that have me on Facebook and such, and I think that they know what I do, but they haven't said anything about it specifically. Fortunately they are some of the few awesome people in my family, so I don't think their reactions would be negative. :) -
Of course! I put together a page of advice for models here: http://chelseachristian.tumblr.com/adviceformodels
But you're more than welcome to ask me any questions you might have :) -
I've answered very similar questions to this before, and their answers would be the same for this question as well. :)

The answer is the same to both questions and is fairly simple. I like it. :)
I also feel most natural with blue hair. I'm of the firm belief that I'm just supposed to have this color hair. :) -
I get asked this a lot, and it's kind of a long answer, so I put it on this page to make it easier to find: http://chelseachristian.tumblr.com/faq :)

Hey! I end up getting asked this a lot, so I put it all together on one page of advice here: http://chelseachristian.tumblr.com/adviceforphotographers
If you're getting into model photography, I'd love to work with you sometime! If everything goes according to plan, I should be headed to your area in May :) -
I usually don't work with amateurs that can't pay me, unless they are a personal friend or something like that.
My full-time job is modelling, so offering TF* shoots to people that can't offer me portfolio-quality images doesn't really make sense.
The entire point of a TF* shoot is that it is a trade, and working with an amateur it wouldn't really be a trade since I wouldn't be getting anything that I could use to update my portfolio.
Anyway, I don't know anyone that would do their full-time job without receiving payment. So why ask a model to do the same? -
<.< My name isn't Christian... My name is Chelsea. My last name is Christian.
I usually do not respond to messages that specifically mention my breasts. I appreciate that you like them, but I find it a bit tacky to mention them specifically. I very recently blocked someone on ModelMayhem who sent me a message just about how much they liked my breasts.
And, I don't publicly discuss my rates or any other financial details. You are more than welcome to message me via my website (http://www.chelseachristian.com/booking) or on ModelMayhem (http://www.modelmayhem.com/1630037) to discuss a possible shoot though, and we can discuss those details then. :) -
I don't have a top favorite, but I definitely have a top 3. :)
Rogue and Priest (I have mained both a rogue and a priest since I started playing), and Prot Paladin (my favorite tanks to have as a rogue and priest and a class I'd like to play in the future). -
I honestly have no idea. I don't feel like it's anything to look down on. I think porn is a wonderful thing.
I don't think it's ignorance though. I think it has something to do with how they are raised and how there seems to be a huge taboo about the naked body in the US. I know that in Europe it's really not like that and people are more open and accepting of the naked body and sex. -
You didn't offend me at all. I have seen that question asked to many models that I know, so it's pretty standard.
Yeah, there are a lot of people out there that act like it's some taboo thing that no one should do or talk about or whatever. It think that's stupid, because it's completely natural. I personally don't like people talking to me about their masturbatory habits (because I believe in tact), but that's not because I think it's a bad thing.
I definitely don't think people should avoid going into modelling because people may or may not be masturbating to their images. People will do that to images of someone, or even just thinking about them, whether they are a model or not. -
Yes, I've been the first nude model for a few photographers. Sometimes my favorite people to shoot for are the amateurs, because they haven't developed habits that make them assholes yet.
Why would I have a reaction? Why would I even notice? I'm there to do my job and pose for their ideas, not to stare at their crotch and see if they get some kind of excitement out of it. If I took the time to do that, it would take my full attention away from what I'm doing for the shoot, and it would probably negatively affect the shoot.
The important thing that you said was that they act "pro, respectful, polite and generally normal". That is something I hope to have with every photographer, and that's definitely what someone should be worried about, not whether or not they got excited. -
No, I wouldn't do it. There is no way to convince me to do it either, so people trying to just becomes annoying.
A big thing about modelling and photography (and really life in general) is respecting people's limits. I shoot a wide variety of things, and there are very few things that I am not open to shooting. Compared to what I will shoot, what I won't shoot is a very very tiny list.
**I just want to specify that when I said something about people trying to convince me: I have absolutely no problem if someone asks me to do something. How do they know I won't do something until they ask? Many people have figured it out by the fact that there are no shots like that in my port, but some people may not.
It starts to become a problem when the same person asks me multiple times after I say "No, I don't do shots like that." The badgering is really annoying and gets old very quickly. -
No. Why would they bother me? It's a completely natural thing to do. It's not a problem.
It will become a problem if people decide they need to inform me about it or try to discuss it with me. What they do in their private time/life is fine, but keep it private. I don't need, or want, to know.
And, nope, I wasn't wondering if you were "one of those". -
Ok so, I wouldn't always say that "digitally enhanced" is synonymous with "Photoshopped"., I hate seen images PS'd to hell and back, and it definitely did not enhance them image.
That being said, I prefer images that look good. If that requires Photoshop to do that, then great. If they look good natural, great.
It's been my experience that unless you have complete control of your lighting or can get colors on the image exactly how they look irl, then all images need a bit of time in Photoshop or Lightroom to tweak the colors to look their best. All of the camera that I have used do great images, however the colors don't exactly look their best when on the screen.
As far as using Photoshop to take away blemishes or scars or anything like that, I find that if the model in an image has a zit or scar that is distracting to the overall image that it should be removed. Some people leave them in because they personally like scars, but it distracts from the overall image for everyone else. The same can be said for stray hairs, wrinkles in clothing, etc.
In the end it only matters that the picture looks good.
