Life in prison, with no hope of parole, or the death penalty - which would you choose for yourself?

No hope of parole. There's always a chance to escape.

      Highlights from Hawaii?

Lots o' highlights, but here's a special one:

One of my hopes was to swim with some sea turtles. Had seen tons of beautiful fish, but with two days left, no turtles yet, I was a man on a mission.*

Rented some snorkeling gear and paddled out into a relatively strong current. Mask started leaking. Should I get a new one? Yes. Exited the ocean, took off flippers, walked back to get a replacement.

Along the way, ran into an Australian emerging from a snorkle. Asked about sea turtles and he pointed quite a ways out, 60 yards or so past the rocks at edge of beach.

Flippering out a second time, the current was stronger than imagined. The waves periodically sent salt water down my breathing hole. To quote Costanza, 'the sea was angry that day my friends." But I soldiered on.

Emerging about where the Aussie had recommended, I was bobbing in the current, trying to catch my breath. The sun shone through about 40 feet of water, exposing coral below. And nothing more. A total bust.

Just then, i saw an enormous cloud of sand to my side. And then a large moving blur of grey/green. All within 3-4 feet of me. Scared the daylights out of me. Sure enough, was an enormous sea turtle, five feet long. He had come up for a gulp of air. He glided purposefully with a slow, steady motion. I swam next to him for 7 minutes before he descended back to the bottom to have a powwow with another turtles (covered in sand, which I had not spotted).

Exhausted walking to the rental hut on the beach after swimming to shore, a woman asked if there was anything out there. I said "Two turtles if you look hard enough." "Really?" "Really." :)

      * Not the Brandon-turtle kind

Hi formspring! If you could any superpower, what would it be??

It would be the power to get each person to realize that they have the power to make a change at their school and in their community for good.

We're really proud to be partnering with a new movie, Bully, which followers five different stories of American teens who have been bullied at school or in their community. You can read more about our partnership here: http://blog.formspring.me/2012/04/the-moving-new-film-opening-tomorrow-april-13-bully/

In the meantime, we also encourage all Formspringers to check out the movie this weekend, since it opens today. Here's a preview:

I disagree with a couple of people! Of COURSE "Bully" will stop bullying not all but ALOT! Do you agree?

We know that we won't prevent every incident of bullying, but as long as we continue to fight against it and empower kids like yourself, we know that we can limit its impact upon the lives of many!!

    11. Lee Hirsch

Kids are so scared to go to their parents and teachers for help. How can the media (TV and the Internet) be a better source for them when they're too scared of talking to those they know the most?

The media can do their job by reporting incidents of bullying, or discussing the issue as it pertains to local schools and residents. The more we discuss this issue on all levels, whether it be at home or in the news, the more awareness we bring to the problem, and the more solutions we can provide and the faster we can move forward. The media has an extraordinary pulpit to bring awareness to this issue, and if victims of bullying see that it is being discussed in their community, especially on media platforms as large as the ones that exist today, it may inspire them to also make their voice heard.

Starting tomorrow, in order to include meat in your diet, you have to personally be responsible for killing and cleaning the animal you are going to consume. Can you do it, or did you just become vegetarian?

I think my consumption patterns would change, but it wouldn't prevent me from eating meat. I would definitely eat a lot of seafood. I've caught/cleaned/cooked plenty of fish before, and I can do that no problem. I've also prepared live lobster and crab and such, and that's also no problem.

I think I could handle proper meat too, though I would imagine I'd eat a lot less. Cleaning a trout is easy. I can't imaging cleaning/butchering a cow is at the same level of difficulty.

As far as the morality/ethics/squeamishness goes, it might be difficult the first few times, but I'm pretty adaptable, and I feel like if I worked my way up from the stuff I can already do I would be able to handle it.

That said, I have a friend who works in a butcher shop and became a vegan shortly after he started work, so who knows.

Tank top season already? How warm is it where you are today

It's been absolutely beautiful in SF for the past few days. I had baseball practice yesterday and it was 65 degrees without a cloud in the sky. I don't think you could ask for a better day in February. And it's just a wonderful today.

What makes you happy/unhappy about your current job ? If you are unhappy at you job why are you still working there ?

I was unhappy - so unhappy - at my last job. There was this awful culture of fear and conformity that just depressed the hell out of me.

Lucky for me, I ran into @robstorrs on the train one morning, and he introduced me to this awesome place. Now, after 9 months, I still look forward to coming into work every day. I love what we do - I'm addicted to our service - and I love the people I work with. They are hilarious, brilliant, and totally dedicated.

They are also, without exception, incredibly good-looking.
