I'm such a wimp on answering questions like this, because there's no "one" person who is my thought leader. I admire my older daughter's courage but fear she'll be hurt and embittered by the world as she is out on her own; I wish I could still protect her. I admire my younger daughter's kindness and fear for her vulnerability. I admire my husband's seemingly endless capacity to give, my mother's resilience, and some of my friends' amazing abilities to organize their lives. I see inspiration in many places. It's a wonder I ever get depressed or have moments of despair, but I'm all too human in that regard!

Ha, a TI calculator from a high school boyfriend as a Christmas present. It was a fancy, programmable one, very ahead of its day (late '70s). Not the world's most romantic chap in the gifts department, but very earnest, and he had gorgeous green eyes. I thanked him. ;o)

Too many peaks to count. Finding out I was pregnant. Holding my first child. Taking my second one home, small but healthy, from the NICU. Sitting down in our first house together with my husband and children and my mom. Seeing my older daughter again and hugging her fiercely for the first time after she left home. I guess they are all about family. How about you?

I can't name just one. I am married to the coolest guy I know. I work with cool people. I have cool friends from high school, college, my community, and online. (I think I'm usually the geek, klutz, bookworm, and scatterbrain they giggle at, but I don't care if I get to laugh back when they are the goofs!) Cool = being comfortable with being yourself.
