My website/blog is run through Wordpress and was custom designed by http://www.dameian.com. I would stay away from flash since that does nothing for your SEO. ProPhotoblog also has great blog/website templates you could do yourself at great prices.

I personally order my canvases as 1.5 inches thick, no coating. As far as tips go with ordering, I would contact your canvas supplier and ask what they suggest. Different canvas companies will have different guidelines.

Shoot at a larger F-stop. If you have a shallow depth of field, less people will be in focus (larger group shots especially). Depending on your group size & amount of light available, I would try and shoot at f4 or higher. The higher the number on the fstop, the more people will be in focus. Hope this helps!

To be completely honest with you , I haven't noticed this issue that you mention. Wish I could help you there.

I used wordpress and do it through that. In the body, instead of inserting an image, click on the music symbol. Upload the song. Once uploaded click on "audio player", THEN insert into post. You should be able to see it after that.

When I had first started out from scratch with no previous weddings, I had offered to shoot for no cost or low cost for friends/family. After that, I listed with online directories (wedding blogs, Wedding Photography Directory, etc...) to have some type of presence. Honestly, you won't go from 0-30 weddings within the first year when you are just starting out. The most important thing is that with EVERY client (whether, low-cost, free, etc...) you give them the best customer service possible. This way, you can start building word of mouth referrals. Some other ways to start getting weddings is by networking with local photographers. Help them second shoot, building your portfolio and gain their confidence in hopefully sending you referrals. Another way, is by doing a bridal show as well. The first year I shot weddings full time, I booked 27 weddings from the bridal show I did in January. They were shot with my low introductory packages but helped me build my portfolio, nonetheless.

For a session, anywhere from 2-6 hours depending on how many final images as well as the amount of retouching. For a wedding, anywhere from 8-16 hours, again depending on how many final images and the amount of retouching needed.

I save them as full-res jpeg. After I've delivered images to a client, I save the RAW & edited JPEG versions of my keepers.

Email photographers in your area and let them know you are interested in second shooting. There are also plenty of amazing online forums you can join and become part of a community. I would highly recommend Flickr's SWPB. All of the members are very active and helpful on there. Here is the link: http://www.flickr.com/groups/startingaweddingbiz/

I always try to obtain permission beforehand if I know that is where I am going. We wanted to take a photo on someone's private pier so we just went up to the front door and asked the homeowner. He saw the bride and was suddenly at her beck and call to make her happy and allowed us to use his pier to get this shot: http://www.carolineghetes.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/CAROLINE-AND-JOE-051.jpg
Other than that, sometimes we'll be driving and I'll spot a field and have at it. I've never run into any problems where I was asked to leave a property. -

Yes it's through ProPhoto Blogs via Wordpress. Don't know much about Blogger so wish I could help you there :)

There's no general rule for this. It all depends on where you are and what you are given to work with. The best advice I can give is to learn your flash inside and out and practice until you find the settings you like for the different lighting conditions you are in. Sorry, there just isn't a straight answer for this.

Haha, oy! I had Before & Afters, as well as Weight Loss Wednesdays, and to be honest I just don't have much time anymore to be consistent with either one anymore. Whatever extra time I do have, I have to devote to my family and home :)

Oh I see :) I own the 7D as a backup to my Mark II and to be honest, I have never taken photos with it yet. I use my Mark II for EVERYTHING.

Prolly not. I rarely post pictures of myself ;)

No, I just leave them as they are. On the disc, I include the full res images in their original sizes (I take the quality down to 90% since it doesn't make any difference in quality but it reduces the file size so I can fit more images onto the disc). Also, when I order 4x6 prints from the lab, I size them as 4x6 at 300 dpi.

A lot of it would have to do with the "Detroit" action in the Totally Rad Actions set. Thank you!

Hello, and thank you : ) If need be, I do all of my cropping in LR. Then export as full quality JPEGS to PS. I don't mess with the resolution unless I am saving an image for web.
