Oh that's an easy one! Nothing beats a porterhouse preferably from Ruth Chris!

I was only able to use it once for a quick shoot the other day so I couldn't tell you yet. Today I have a fashion shoot and plan on only using that lens the whole day so we'll see the results in a few days.

That I do. The 24-105mm is the zoom lens the I primarily use for my lighting work or If I'm going for a more flat look for skin tones the I actually use the 28-90mm kit lens. Because of the lack of quality it actually helps with not over sharpening and picking up details in skin I don't always want.

I always tell you guys, if you know what you're doing or have a desired look you're trying to accomplish then knowing your equimpment is essential and having the best doesn't mean anything if you don't know how to use it or it's capabilities and limitations.

As of now I have my 5D Mark II, the 24-105mm, 35mm, 50mm and 1 flash for trick lighting and that's it.

A lot of my stuff in looking raw because I'm shooting very raw right now. Trying to change my mindset and just shoot what I see and feel. Also a lot of the lifestyle work I'm trying to get into is shot like that so I'm not editing as much.

As for film, I just picked up a vintage film camera at a flea market and did my first shoot with it and ended up with some great results that I will post in a little. It was fun and challenging but not something I'm ready to do reagularly just yet.

Everyone of them though I don't think a few feel the same! lol

Seriously, I never hold any resentment to anyone I've been with. Over time I believe you forget the negative and realize you spent time with someone because there was that initial friendship to begin with and there are just some people you aren't meant to be intimate with.

When I hear horror stories of bad endings to relationships i always tell to people to remember the circumstances at hand. It's never fun to end something with someone and everyone reacts different, but again, at the time no ones head is straight and emotions are all over the place.

Some of the people I've dated or been involved with I talk to on the regular, some every once in a blue moon, and some never but they all know if they ever need to talk or have an emergency I'll always be there to listen or help out.

I'm shooting whatever I feel like shooting at the moment. No limitations, labels or restrictions, just shooting.

    9. Carey Hess

Most of the time I'm using strobes. When I am it depends on the look I'm really going for but I try to avoid sun hitting the lens at all costs unless it's a desired effect I'm going for.

Oh absolutely. I love where I live now and everything I wanted is now completely falling into place and I couldn't be happier. I have really somehow been able to, almost overnight, erase the years of moving and negativity and am just finally enjoying life again like before I ever left this place.

Skin tones are always going to be a challenge. Even with the best MUA you are always going to have to do a little photo retouching. For me, I created an action back when I've first started that I use and tweak here and there for my images. Over the years, as my skill in retouching has grown, I'm able to quickly paint areas before adding any type of skin softening and then just mask out my areas I need to paint, add my action and I'm set.

There are good programs that I've used but I always went back to what worked for me as some of the programs just seemed to over do it.

Thank you and I do not keep them posted as I like to speak to you guys individually when going over a shoot. So if interested then just shoot me an email with the form on my website and we can go from there.

Haha, thanks for compliment but I'm just a big dork! And no temptation, just show me the money!!

Seriously though, you become so numb to doing this after long enough. It messes with you a little in actually. I've found myself sometime being over judgmental when I'm out and it's not a good thing. But I've said this many times, I've seen the hottest or most beautiful women come in the door and become instantaneously unattractive when opening their mouths because of horrible personalities and vice versa.

That I do not and for two reasons the first of which the images taken actually belongs to the company. So when I'm shooting, at the end of the event the images are directly going to my boss and not for personal use. The second reason, in all honesty, it's not the most creative or exciting work to be posted. It's really not work that needs to be shown in my port.

Don't get me wrong, I love the job, networking, ability to create my schedule and obviously pay but this is what is giving me the freedom to do the work I've wanted to do for years with no pressure so I'm loving it.

Good question but I don't think there is a true definitive definition of that term. From those who I've talked to that shoot lifestyle, I've been under the impression that putting together more high fashion looks into the editorials/series changes the term from just lifestyle to the fashion lifestyle.

I feel like when I shoot more raw and natural where style isn't the main focus then it is more a lifestyle shot but when I'm working to do more fashion looks then the term itself then changes. Hopefully that helps.

I liked it but it just didn't cut it for me so I returned it. My new job involves weddings and events so the need for the f/2.8 was just way too important for me to settle on a lens that wasn't going to cut it for low light. Plus there's just no comparison with the two lenses when it comes to quality. The f/2.8 is just an all around amazing lens. So that's the next on my list.

    18. Carey Hess

It really just depends on what I'm doing so there is concrete answer. When I do most of my lighting work then I'm always using zoom lenses but most of my fashion/lifestyle work is done with primes. It comes down to the shoot and what is needed.

It's completely ever changing with the different styles I tend to shoot but at the current moment I'm getting into very raw lifestyle photography like the old days when photographers were using film.
