Not counting flights, I think the only time was in the late 70's. I had a lot to think about.

Mr Fishwick, who taught me Economics, British Government & History at A' level in Burnley. Without his example, I doubt I'd have gone on to teach myself. Very honest, intelligent, entertaining guy. I think he later became a council leader.

Ball passed forward in the opposition half when your team has players in front of their players (not counting the goalie). It's offside. What's not to understand?

Sorry, I took so long to reply, the notification system doesn't seem to work and I'm snowed with work. You seem to be asking for Bruce that doesn't sound like Bruce, but that would be pointless, so I suggest the live version of New York City Serenade - oh,hang on, that's not on Spotify. Try again. I suspect it's the more bombastic Bruce you have trouble with, so 'Paradise' from 'The Rising'. 'My Best Was Never Good Enough' from 'The Ghost Of Tom Joad' and 'All That Heaven Will Allow' from 'Tunnel Of Love' (if you want to end on an up, or 'Brilliant Disguise' if you're in a bleaker mood).

A friend mentioned Beach House to me last week and I downloaded a few tracks from http://hypem.com/ which I quite liked. Dled their Daytrotter session yesterday (http://www.daytrotter.com/ is a great source for alternative versions of songs by new and old bands) but been too snowed with work to play it yet.

It was the latest Siri Hustvedt. I liked her second, 'What I Loved', a lot, but the newish one (title forgotten) is a stinker. Talking of wives of Paul Auster, I've just started reading the collected short stories of his previous wife, Lydia Davis. Now she's an interesting writer.

Yes, please. I'm just about to have my lunch (home roasted beef with horse radish in an onion bagel, yum)

I never get up before nine or go to bed before midnight. Early morning flights and well paid speaking engagements excepted, of course.
