Thanks! Invest in a decent lens (50 1.4 or 1.8) and go nuts. Shoot both outdoors and indoors. When I shoot my breakfast I use window light. Portraits: Ask a friend or relative if they would be willing to act as models. Shoot in the shade and in the sun and see how different light affects the image. Experiment away! Good luck!

I use a Canon 5D II and several L-lenses (scroll down for more info). I try and nail exposure in camera, but sometimes I add a curve in Photoshop to make the image slightly lighter. Window light is awesome.

      Hahaha! Frukt? ;-)

Efter att ha kollat på bilden ser det ut som att jag hade blodapelsin, nektarin, kiwi och honungsmelon.

Yeah, but I haven't used it in a loooong time. No fun stuff whatsoever. Just a pic of a boat and some self-portraits. No fun at all. Come to think of it - I don't even remember my login... Sorry...

      Thank you! :-)

Self-taught. My best tip would be to take your camera (if you have one, that is - I'm guessing that you do) and just go out and shoot. Learn your camera. Find great light. Learn how to use it. Mess around with different compositions. Look att other photographers, get inspired, but allow YOUR style to shine through. I took me some time to find mine, but I'm glad it did. I tried to copy other photographers for some time until I realized that I don't want to imitate others. I just want to be me. Nothing wrong with copying others - I think it's a phase you need to go through in order to find yourself. Been there, done that. But I think it gets tiredsome after a while. I'm happy with my style now. It took me while to get here, but it's been worth it. Google things you want to know (that's what I did) and don't be afraid to mess up. Learning by doing. Better than any school out there. If you're shooting digital, learn Photoshop and Lightroom. A good picture doesn't require much work in PS and LR, but it's good to know the basics.

It's hard to train someone to see things. Really, really SEE them. I'm not talking about breakfast photos here - a monkey can learn to take a decent photo of yoghurt. You can nail composition and light but the image might still lack something. That je ne sais quoi. I don't know your interests - maybe your interested in shooting flowers. Macro images. I'm more of a people person. And breakfast person - ha!

I guess what I'm trying to say is - go out, have fun and learn something along the way.

Sorry about the essay. I got carried away.
      Hope that helps. Good luck!
