Winnie the Pooh, a gift from my paternal grandparents. Still have the book on my nightstand 50 years later.

Daily - endorphins. Am an all-weather bicyclist in Chicago. Commute 19 miles round trip in rain, sleet, or snow, 90° or -10° F. Caffein & sugar.

Recreational & illicit - all hallucinogens in all forms: THC, psilocybin, mescaline, & LSD.

Do not dream much. Rarely sleep long enough to reach deep sleep required for vivid dream states. Dreams tend to be means for subconscious to resolve puzzles and problems conscious mind is working through. Dreams expand solution space or give alternative approach to problem.
Also, prefer to dream while awake & standing up so that I can accept responsibility to make the dreams come true. It is a very left-brained approach to see dreams as something that can be actualized rather than as an entity to be experienced for their sake.
Most memorable dream was of two snakes coiled in a square foot box we used to urban garden on our apartment balcony. Immediately knew that subconscious was referencing James Watson's famous coiled snake dream that led to his & Crick's insight on the double helix structure of DNA. Matched pair sequencing provided an interesting solution space to the complex algorithmic problem of good enough encryption/decryption in small memory spaces (4-8 kb). Dream led to a novel, yet simple, approach to a thorny programming problem.

Aside from developing many non-congruent communication skills to cope with an angry, violent, and abusive alcoholic parent & an absent though enabling codependent spouse, it was probably the 3-4 weeks of abusive neglect/abandonment I endured as a two-year-old following the death of my little sister due to SIDS.
As much of my life story, there is an upside to this event. My paternal grandmother took care of me for next several years until her death by cancer. From her I learned unconditional love and the need to take risks to make that love real. She and my grandfather gave me years of respite from the abuse, a sense of self-worth, and many life/people skills that have served me well over the years. I am eternally grateful for their kind & selfless intervention on my behalf.

Yes. Tried it in both forms, smoking & injection (once). Really did not enjoy either method. And resulting experiences did not measure up to expectations.
Was about twenty and willing to try anything once. Born with a dangerous lack of fear. Also, knew I had a non-addictive personality having tried other highly addictive substances and walked away with no ill effects.
Had sad experience of losing friend to heroin OD from the group of friends which experimented with the drug. Thought he & i were wired alike. He was the last person I would have expected to lose himself to a drug. Seen the havoc it can wreak on individuals, families, & communities. Would suggest that one seriously weigh the consequences before trying the drug. Thankful that my experience turned out as it did.
