The gimmick/hook in the WiiU looks way more likely to yield some interesting games than the Wii's waggle, and it'll be worth owning for the handful of first-party exclusives either way, so yeah, I'm sure I'll end up getting one. The potential for connectivity with the 3DS is also exciting although I fully expect Nintendo to squander that.

Definitely. The extent to which they seem to have invested in Kinect game development is a little disturbing, and outside of Halo 4 the first-party Xbox slate looks pretty barren in general right now. I'm sure we'll see some new stuff at E3, but how much will be Kinect-driven, who can say. Star Wars didn't paint a rosy future for that thing.

Never actually tried one that I can remember, but the visuals in the 3DS one look amazing. Really want to try that thing.

Geometry Wars, since you can't get it on any other platform. You can get your fill of Doom next time you fly Virgin.

I'm having fun following Naniwa just because it's been so long since a foreigner did that well in the GSL, but for interesting play style it was cool to see Inca busting out carriers recently. Haven't been keeping up with pro SC2 enough to have a good sense of what everyone is doing lately.

Purely based on personality, I'll go with White-Ra. Special tactics!

I wish people could see how many questions you ask and how weird they are.

    10. Brad Shoemaker

Yeah, I have no idea how they'd handle that, and that's one of the reasons I'm not convinced they'll ever integrate the CPP controls into the core 3DS design at this point. They're still not even clearing a per-unit profit on the current model.

    11. Brad Shoemaker

Yeah, I do. Nintendo was firm enough about that timeframe that it'd seem crazy if they went back on it now. I bet they're prepping a ton of new stuff for E3, after which time the WiiU will seem a lot more like a tangible product you'll be able to buy than a nebulous collection of ideas and tech with tentative names.

It's got an amazing-looking screen and seems capable on the hardware side, but that still doesn't make me interested in playing console-like games on a handheld. It's also a bit big to carry around with you casually, and I'm at a point in my life where I want to reduce the number of devices I keep on hand to as low a number as possible. A phone and 3DS are already sorta pushing it.

Great games trump all, though, so I hope they can lay it down on the software side and change my mind.

Not as crazy as it will be when the next Xbox and PlayStation come out, and the WiiU starts playing second fiddle again. But hopefully the games for those systems will scale down smoothly without the need to create entirely separate WiiU versions. The common control scheme will help a bit too.

Still haven't gotten a copy in yet. We'll cover it in some way, but the closer we get to release without getting our hands on it, the less likely a review is.
