      1) A significant enough lottery win that I would be independently wealthy, 2) an end to religious and ideological extremism, 3) faster-than-light interstellar travel.

I choose the box of puppies. I'm a) allergic to cats, c) have seen that Olivia Newton John video and it ends in sadness for the protagonist, d) don't actually partake. The box of puppies and I then proceed to have a series of madcap adventures and then fall asleep in a giant, cuddly heap. Hooray, puppies!

I'm not sure my relationship to chores is really a like v. dislike thing. It's really more a matter of my state of mind. If I'm doing well emotionally, I'm surprisingly willing to tidy, especially in an empty house where I can put on a podcast and just hit it hard. It does seem like I'm more willing than others to do the really icky chores, though: toilets, manky old dishes, etc. I'm either not put off, or just willing to grit my teeth and get it over with.

Depends on the circumstances, I think. Intimate breakfast in bed by a partner is different with, say, somebody in a host capacity, or someone in hospitality. Also, some foods are kind of seasonal. Regardless, it's hard to go wrong having a cup of good tea or coffee with breakfast.

I've read the whole series, though it's been a little while. I think, if I could have had anything, it would have been a stronger resolution for those characters I resonated with more strongly than Harry and his inner circle. Snape in particular is hard done by for the duration of the series and I would have liked to have seen him be redeemed properly.

Probably either Orlando (the one based on the Virginia Woolf novel), though it's heard to beat Shaun of the Dead.

That's tricky. My vague, knee-jerk answer would be that I'm not as self-sufficient as I'd like to be at this stage in my life, mainly because of choices that didn't work out the way I'd hoped and circumstances beyond my control. Closer to the heart, though, it might be that I need to trust my own emotional resilience more. I take a lot of intellectual risks, but I'm a really guarded person these days. I feel more authentic and energetic when I do that less.

I used to get terrible stomach aches when I ate eggs. Now I get them with squid and sometimes with kiwi fruit. No idea why.

What you know. If your head is empty, all the contacts in the world aren't going to be particularly helpful.

Violets. They're edible, and spring up all over my front yard. It's freaking badass. (SHUT UP, IT IS.)

Happy accident. I was born here, and when I graduated from high school I moved to Columbia because I had friends here. I don't know if I'll stay here forever -- there are other cities that have allure, believe me -- but it's where my home is for now.

I honestly prefer boots (Doc Martens) over both, but own and wear all three.

There are a few things that really get me excited. One, I'm fascinated with the idea of putting ordinary people into extraordinary circumstances, be it in a SF/F scenario or one that more closely resembles the world we live in. I'm also drawn to characters who have some kind of significant, unmet need somewhere in their make-up, though that's not always something that's plot-significant or obvious. I'm also really interested in writing people who exist in the LGBTQ spectrum, or belong to other groups who don't get enough representation in various media. I want to see more diversity in the things I read, which makes me think it's important to me to try and achieve that in my own work, too.
