Everybody on the team has a slightly different taste for what they like to use but the Canon 5D is the most checked out piece of gear we have. We record audio on an h4n Zoom recorder with either a boom or Senheiser wireless packs, using Countryman lav mics. Though sometimes we will rent Zeiss lenses for high-end shoots, our bread and butter lens is the Canon EF 24-105 f/4 L lens with a complement of primes. And for stabilization, nothing beats the mobility of a Manfrotto 561BHDV-1 monopod. There are a lot of other pieces that we use from time to time, but those are the bare essentials.

For weekend production, all key technical positions are staff or contract labor. Some positions, like camera operators, are manned by great volunteers.
Every video shoot is produced by staff, with a minimum crew of one Video Producer and one Production Coordinator. We often recruit help from other Bling members, and we certainly have volunteers that give their time and talents to do everything from create props to act as crew.
We have a facebook group called "Cast & Crew" that we use as our primary outlet for filling needs and recruiting people. Check it out at http://www.facebook.com/groups/lctvcastncrew/ -
We always are on the lookout for new ideas, and try to find inspiration in a variety of places, not just other media sources. We generally try to avoid doing spoofs or parodies. If there is an existing work that inspires us, we try to distill it down to the essential "what works" instead of just trying to mimic the piece itself. We also set aside time each week to work on creatively stimulating projects, be it learning a new skill, or experimenting with a random idea to see if it can work for anything. Some of our most successful projects have come from this "creative time."

Much of our process is described in our Video FAQ at http://blingblog.tv/?page_id=28. I would add that in order to provide Craig maximum flexibility when planning his messages, we have learned to be very light on our feet. Though the normal process of developing a Message Series package can take months, we have had to change course on short notice and turn concepts around in a few days. But we don't do that very often (knock on wood).

Right now we use ManageEngine ServiceDesk, but are considering a switch to BaseCamp. Most people we know that use BC love it.
Our video guys use 2 20" Cinema Displays for our editing, and the designers work on iMacs. We work our Macs pretty hard, but keep each computer for at least three years (the length of warranty) before we consider upgrading. Usually it's longer than that unless there's a breakdown. -
A lot of times it's just whatever is available.
We have some good relationships with homebuilders and realtors that are involved in the church, and those guys have been tremendously generous with letting us invade their properties when we need a house.
We do try to incorporate some of the LifeChurch.tv locations outside of Oklahoma, but we always want to make sure we're being good stewards of our resources.
What about you? Where do you go when you need to shoot outside of a studio? -

Sure, we'd be happy to share that info. We'll get a blog post up soon.

Obviously, first and foremost is a high degree of technical competence combined with a passion for reaching people for Christ.
Beyond that, we love to work with people who have a strong self-motivation to push themselves creatively with every new project. When one of us tries to pull off something they've never tried before, it inspires the rest of us to do the same.
Keep checking www.lifechurch.tv/jobs for specific requirements of all of the open positions on our team.
