Right now I'm super excited. I've been doing research for the last three years, and my lab members refer to me as an honorary grad student, so I think I'm fairly prepared. Don't worry, I'll probably be freaking out come September.

I liked science starting in about 7th grade, but I really didn't call myself a scientist until college. Until I graduated high school, I identified more as an artist. Guess I just got immersed in the science culture here!

Yes? Well, usually? I mean, during the winter I may go a week or two without doing it out of laziness, but in shorts-weather I'll keep them shaved. I like how they look and feel, and don't care if I'm really just subconsciously doing it because of social norms. Smooooooooth!

It depends on my mood/the goal of the night. To have with dinner, Strongbow (a hard cider). To have while chilling, a mudslide. To have while out partying, a sex on the beach or long island. Yeah, I like sweet things!

I theoretically eventually want kids, but I'm not sure if that's because I REALLY want them, or if I feel like I'm supposed to want them. I figure I'll know better once I'm closer to a child-bearing age. And have someone to have a kid with. Right now, the idea is a little terrifying.

Well, it depends on your interests, but I'd probably be lame and get something like a DNA helix...or an evolutionary tree of life. But maybe I'd draw it myself - I did make a tattoo for a friend once!

Only if it requires a response, like when we were organizing his visit to Purdue. He's a busy guy, so I don't blame him - but I do know he probably reads my other emails, since he's put up some of my links before.
And I guess the surprising thing was how comfortable I felt talking to him. Not just because he's so mild-mannered in person, which other people have said. But because generally there's this normal bit of fear for an undergraduate talking to a professor in their field, but I was very comfortable chatting with him. It was fun!
