I am little surprised i'm going to end up greenwich, myself! your impression of greenwich is probably pretty accurate.

but it's where my husband will be working as of march, so in an effort to make things easy on our whole little fam and cut down commute times, etc., we decided to look for a place to live in greenwich. yes, it's preppy. yes, i am a creative type. and it's not my first choice of places to live, but sometimes ya gotta roll with the punches/go with the flow, and i do have a family and their needs to also consider. i can still be creative...greenwich will not squash that part of me.

i'm trying to see the positive in the move/in greenwich itself: it's smallish, it's fairly close to NYC (25 miles-ish, i can go in when i want), i can ride my bike to a lot of stuff (including the store, beach, library, some shopping stuff, park for my kiddo, etc.). it's also cheaper than NYC, we get more space...and it's quieter.
